It most certainly is a fact- Good things can happen to bad people. It's also a fact, " A good book is nothing less than magic."
I love when the two ideas come together with Alice Feeney behind the wheel as this newest work takes you there and brings you back. Two crimes -connected with 3 suspects-2 murders-1 victim....
Could this be nothing more than family drama-as in the mother hates the daughter?
Could this be wishing someone had not been born (which as a parent myself) is hard to type much less write.)
Could this be a kidnapping of a baby at a grocery store which had underlying motives larger than what's being told by all parties?
After all why wouldn't Edith Elliot not be content in a nursing home and wishes to escape daily at 80 yo when she has everything she needs?
Or could it have been that something else has shaken her to the core-perhaps a nearby murder in more ways than one?
Patience is her nurse and Frankie Fletcher's mom so perhaps we shall ask them--oh, wait - they're busy.
Ok, well let's face facts- we can't live forever-and facts must never lie dormant.
More than anyone Edith's daughter -Clio- might realize that life is short but she might also be made aware that new life may just be upon us and perhaps she'll come around to knowing that in life there's curve balls and sometimes losing is a gain.
Just be careful as sometimes you never know how your past might come crawling back to you and landing on your doorstep.
Now, I gotta run - Jude - seems to have more to say.
Thanks to Alice, the Macmillan Audio, Netgalley for this ARC audio in exchange for this honest review.
