There's nothing more one can say after reading this piece from Joyce Meyer other than, "Praise God" and "Give God the Glory."

"Loyalty" by Lisa Scottoline
Lisa Scottoline has always been my go to author when I need something uniquely crafted and superbly written as she never disappoints.
This one for me sadly was a bit over the top with the characters, charades, and mafia type feel but not enough of the development for me to get attached to it.One issue was with the back and forth fighting that felt like it was tossed in for added measure but not much build up and by the time the ending came it fell flat.
I couldn't get into the kill off segments nor the plot and drop with the characters and lost interest in trying to bother.
What did excite my senses was the hidden parental ways and the loyalty that took over and placed these characters firmly in the center for focus and perception.
If it wasn't for that notion I think I'd have quit mid stream on this one.
Thank you to Osterhout Free Library for the constant flow of reader's choice new books. Always a great selection. Please support your local libraries and show 'em some love.
Book Review: "The Puzzle Master" By Danielle Trussoni
Supernatural meets reality and it goes off with a BANG!
What can one say, "In circles we move at night and are consumed by fire."Let me begin by saying not only is God good but God is male and female and this may be shocking to some.
Let me also note that a puzzle is made up of many blank spaces and it's up to us to decide how to fill those spaces.
Hidden messages are found everywhere one looks but not everyone sees or feels the sensations. Those who do may be killed for this knowledge.
There's so much action that it's impossible to not notice from porcelain dolls to therapy sessions to crimes involving death and destruction.
What does come out with the laundry is the bleeding colors of truth and justice and Lord -Hear our Prayer...we need you, stat!
Do I say an acquittal coming your way is a blessing in disguise but for some it's already too late.
Love it all!
Great Job Danielle Trussoni in all regards!
Book Review: "The Forgotten Girls" By Monica Potts
The Forgotten Girls is truly one memoir you may never forget in regards to women's friendships, love, and loss and how all three can hit milestones in remarkable ways.
Whether, we are addressing drug addiction, pregnancy, abusive relatioships, or mending friendships one can be sure that something will need fixing and something may falter.
I'm a speed reader who rarely reads memoirs but this one spoke to me from the start and I'm so glad I didn't take a DNF.
The beginning for me was full of struggles in the way it was written and how it felt to be a one sided downslide of a friend's bad choices in life.
The world isn't easy and as many of us know, "The Life of Hard Knocks" can make you or break you but it shall never become one.
I'm happy with the progression, the fall-out, and the repairs or lack thereof in these relationships as it shows true grit, heart, empathy, and concern and without such we no longer exist to serve others but rather be complacent in our thoughts and self serving.
Thank you to Monica Potts, the publisher, Netgalley, and Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Book Review: "Silent Coup" by Claire Provost and Matt Kennard
This book did a fine job describing how corporations overthrow government. What it didn't do for my needs is define that in the United States of America which is corrupt beyond repair and instead discussed the European role with exclusivity provided via the United Kingdom.
I was hoping to delve into the under belly of what happens in our country but sadly this centered upon WWII and the fall out that happened during said time.
Unfortunately, I was only able to complete roughly 39% and will happily take a DNF as it wasn't up to par nor in line with what I had hoped it would eventually become and I lost interest.
Thank you to Claire Provost and Matt Kennard for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Book Review: "The Donut Legion" By Joe R. Lansdale
When something doesn't seem right-trust your gut instinct!
The Donut Legion is a far-fetched idea about the kooks in our world who believe in UFO's, cults, and everything in between.Doomsday is near scenarios gain traction by those who fail to utilize a drop of truth and instead inject fear, gossip, and world events to showcase the worst of everything.
With this noted Joe Landsdale has several characters that are not only interesting but exotic with just the hint of spices to entice the mind.
An ex-wife named Meg and her husband have gone off radar. The UFO cult is full steam ahead. Black men in suits are roaming free.
Yet, who the heck is Amelia Moon aka Scrappy?
Will Jack Pleasant be able to save us or do we need to rely upon "Bacon?"
Oh, and send in the Cowboys and the Chimpanzee will ya please....
Or, should we just send in a doctor, fix the tumor, and rid ourselves of this craziness....
I got work to do, I'm going to check on that flower bed, and search for the truth which lies somewhere in between it all.
Bye, bye spaceships! Check the freezers!

Book Review: "The Bedroom Window" By K.L. Slater
Sit down! Let me pour you a glass of tea! This might take a while....
Look, you know K.L. Slater ain't playin' and she's here to make a name for herself.Speaking of which you know how they say, "Don't play me for a fool."
Yes, well lets just say grab that binocular, sit right down, make yourself cozy because the show is about to begin.
We all know the bs walks and bs talks but here we have an entire family- The Williamses-who are talking and hiding something or someone.
Why?
Good question and we'll backtrack to find answers from approximately 20 years earlier.
Lottie-is one heck of a gal-with plenty resting on her shoulders. You can't faut with her can you?
She's been through the ringer, her mom left when she was only 13, and now she's facing a new dilemma.
What did you say--Poetic Justice?
Ok, Kay Price- hunny, we need to get ya some help.
Babysitting is one thing but kidnapping is a whole other ball game.
With this noted, what we must say is Neeta/Ted Williams are quite the odd couple in more ways than one.
Do they ever talk? Go out? Get along?
Welp, this whole situation with Yasmin/Graham Fuller-Claire's parents is also a game changer.
Claire meanwhile is missing?
Ted, might or might not know something but will he confess? Does he know where Claire is?
Kay Price is connected to Lottie but the terms of that contract might be up for debate.
Oh, and toss in an affair like a salad with croutons and we got some game.
Neil, I've read in other fellow blog reviewers was seen as Mr. Innocent with leg paralysis. What those folks failed to mention is how that injury came to be and why? Seems our boy isn't so innocent and blackmail is now on the table to offer.
Abandonment, isolation, and bizzare consequences lead to a host of intriguing scenarios ripe for the plucking.
The apple don't fall too far from the tree and this is clearly evident in this case.
Drinking and drugs are never a great cocktail to serve up.
Will this one end well? Could there be a hostage situation? What will happen next?
Ahhh, I love when a great plan comes together!
Kudos, KL Slater has done it again! Plenty of spicy action on this plate. Loved it.
Thank you KL Slater, Bookouture, and NetGalley for this ARC.
Book Review: "The New Mother" By Nora Murphy
When being a new mom takes a turn for the worst you roll with the punches...
Welp! This one was quite the bang up production as we encounter a situation in which a collicky baby leades to a neighbor offering to assist.Unfortunately, not everything is as it seems and the true intentions are exposed in quite an unbearable way.
Lets note here that a wife was just threatened to stay away from the other's husband, WTH?
Oh, and the other half of this equation turns out that someone will die.
You know this reminds me of the saying -be careful what you wish for and the other saying -there's millions in life insurance on the line.
Folks, money is the root of all evil and who knew that a baby item might just take the whole show down.
Post partum depression is real. No doubt! So, too is getting framed!
YIKES!
Ty, to Nora, Macmillan Audio, Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Book Review: "Bad Summer People" By Emma Rosenblaum
Friends, lovers, and everything in between with some raunchy hoe-down play is what you'll find in this newest piece by Emma Rosenblaum.
It all begins with two friends Jen and Lauren and their husbands Sam and Jason. As the story moves forward we learn all the horrible traits each of these individuals possess with especially when a new guy Robert comes into town to play tennis.
Affairs are rampant. People are jumping ship literally and figuratively.
There's plenty of anxiety inducing moments from suicide to MIA to everything in between with the multiple affairs.
When everything goes offline it becomes a crazy time of arrests and stolen funds with plenty of whispers and gossip mills.
The point is nobody just falls off a cliff and nobody just dies randomly.
Someone is hiding something and someone knows the truth.
This was an ok read but nothing that tickled my fancy in terms of thriller reads. It had some hair raising scenes but nothing one can't handle.
Thank you to Emma, the publisher Macmillan Audio, netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Book Review: "Love, Pamela" By Pamela Anderson
One of the greatest joys has been in watching Pamela make it to the big screen of Hollywood.
However, the course she took in getting there hasn't been easy nor advisable and the gossip columns have had a treasure trove to work with following the success.
It's no secret that she's had a wild and crazy ride and she offers no apologies. However, there comes a time when some self decency, respect, and leveling up becomes required and necessary.
I respect Pamela but her story was one that I couldn't relate to in any sense, style, or fashion and it just left me with more questions than answers.
Is there not another way for women to make it in today's world and become successful without stripping to the bare wire?
Can we not use our minds rather than our bodies?
What then happens with our legacy if we continue down this self destructive road and when will women realize they don't have to have company to be successful as a single individual?
Welp, I got nothing more to say on this one...
Thanks to Cloud Library for this e-read .

Book Review: "Fire With Fire" By Candice Fox
Hold up! Do you feel the heat? It seems to be breathing down upon us....
This was so damn hot that I think I best get a cold drink of water to put out the embers that are still burning alongside me after finishing this smokin' hot book.
In fact, I'm a huge fan having read and reviewed just about 4k books as of today's date and I'll tell ya' this one packs a punch in multiple directions.
If you're like me you want to get to the juice and quick. You don't want a delay, a pause in action, or characters that seemingly come out of the woodwork and fall flat. You want that edge, that crispness in writing, that scenario that's just mind blowingly brilliant.
We have so much energy and movement in this one that I was about ready to jump in the ocean myself and enjoy the beach but alas, we got work to do.
When they join forces it's not only the biker gang that needs to watch out but the hostages and the kidnappers too.
This is one of those books that ain't playin' with ya' because the police procedures, the quick wit, the sny commentary is right up in ya' face!
Come to think about things...what parent wouldn't go to the edge of the EARTH to rescue their own.
What more can I say or in the words of FOX-"Life's a garden-dig it!"
You know as a parent we always must watch over our kids. Regardless of where, when, or how the question remains in an ever changing world-how much is too much protection.
In a world in which we can't go to the mall, the beach, the hospital, or the theatre safely it's imperative that we start to question what more can we 'all' do to help one another and change our increasingly violent social outcomes.
I hope if nothing else this book sheds light on that topic because things can change in the blink of an eye.
Thank you to Candice Fox, Macmillan Audio, Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Book Review: "The Perfect Ones" By Nicole Hackett
The reviews are in and this for me was good but not overly memorable.
It begins with the storyline about a powerful influencer gone suddenly missing on an Icelandic trip.Sure, icebergs are as chilling as they can be bombarding and so too seem to be the perfect description of the two friends being looked at for their knowledge.
What I can say is the book never seemed to take us on the voyage that I was hoping to take. I wasn't thrilled with anything persay, as the crime connection or lack thereof, was mediocre.
We learn of an ice berg, of a rope, of some binge eating scenarios, but all in all I'm just not feeling it.
As the story progresses we are told about some harrowing moments, some emotional turmoil, pregnancy, and the latter issues with drugs, with a weapon involved.
The ending for me was too weak and nothing was concrete or substantial to peak my interest.
Thank you to Nicole Hackett, Dreamscape Media, Netgalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Book Review: "Paris The Memoir" By Paris
Paris is one heck of a beautiful young woman but if you were to tell me she'd write a memoir to explain her side and not take ownership of her actions I'd probably think you're nuts.In this case, the sad truth of the matter is upon becoming an adult we can no longer blame those who came before us. We cannot find fault in our medical conditions. We cannot blame friends and or family.
When does the rich and famous stop blaming others and begin to be held accountable with responsibility for one's actions?
That's all I want to know because I heard plenty about the boarding school nightmares that stemmed from being present.
I heard about her battle with alcohol, adhd, ptsd, and even her sex craved video as a teen that was broadcast for the world to see.
I learned about her relationship which appeared on again off again with her parents which I couldn't grasp nor understand for the life of me. Why didn't anyone help when she was at the bottom is my brain fog moment.
I read about her trying IVF and getting married but nowhere do I recall her taking ownership for how she came to be and where she's at in her life now.
Many won't be able to relate to this lifestyle but I can relate to adhd, ptsd, and a narcissistic family that treated me as a scapegoat and black sheep.
I was bankrupt, homeless, lt unemployed, and w/o income raising three kids solo from an 11 yr marriage and nowhere along the way (not even after losing my father and being excluded from his memorial or the prepartion of such) did I think perhaps I should go drink, go do drugs, go party, go have sex, go lose my way in life to make my life that much harder to reign back into when the time comes.
We can only show how we came to be until adulthood. Upon entering adulthood we can only use what we have been given and start new.
As I've told many in my family my legacy speaks volumes. My kids are my life. Nothing can take my work and my values from me if you don't let it.
Please, for the love of God find faith Paris and find love with God first and foremost and move forward with healing and love even if that requires therapy for all involved.
This didn't sound to me as a memoir so much as a blame, shame, and tell all but it will not work unless you own what is yours to own.
You not only hold the pen to rewrite your story you also hold the power! It's within you and God doesn't make mistakes my friend.
As a former model from John Casablancas in Philly I can tell you this...You aren't broken but I do believe you've not yet found your way.
Book Review: "Speak Of The Devil" By Rose Wilding
When 7 people know the truth and are about the share the highlight reel you best be on good behavior.Poor Jamie is now dead and one of the seven may hold the key to unlocking the insight into the horrible tragedy.
Or, was it a true blessing?
As readers are left to ponder the faith of who did this unspeakable act we're led on a maze that is as shocking as it is unbelievably raw.
The feelings of why each woman took charge and fixed their own brokenness was shining brighter than the diamonds and we all know diamonds are formed from hardened rock.
Now folks, the truth is in the pudding and you best be careful what you hear, see, and believe.
So much activity and not enough time to go through it all here but suffice to say there's another individual who has much to say from the cliff's grave site.
These women who became pregnant by this one person aren't to blame but are not going out like that quietly.
Taking advantage of young women, trying to procreate your nasty self, and then using women to further advance your own agenda for the sake of the white egotistical namesake is why I'm here.
Cast a spell and be gone...Oh, please, YES!
To give a child up isn't an easy task but nor is to behead someone or so I'd assume.
So let's go there shall we....
You can drug someone and think you might've escaped but in the end the good man sees all and rights the wrongs done upon them.
You can use others to get your jollies but in the end the ax does fall.
Justice has been served up in more ways than one and this was one hell of a battle to be won.
Great read and highly recommend as everything came together in epic fashion.
Thank you to Rose Wilding, the publisher St. Martin's Press, Netgalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Book Review: "The Wedding Planner" By Danielle Steel
The Wedding Planner by Danielle Steel is the next level in forming friendships and creating dreams.
Memories are made. Planning is on the books. However, their are lives that're about to be changed forever. One thing leads to another and Pandora's box becomes open.
Everyone has something someone else may not be aware of but in this case some of the brides and or grooms are hiding a treasure trove of information that may just be harmful and or toxic.
There's a little bit of everything within these lively characters that creates an atmosphere of excitement regardless from which direction in life you come from and what your ideas of normalcy have become.
Whether you accept or reject isn't the issue it's more about empathy, compassion, love, and endurance.
I enjoyed reading about the varied couples and their relationships. One particular one with Phoebe and Doug was the most relatable in regards to the hindset it took to realize the warning signs while gaslighting played on till the very end.
It's one thing to think you married for love it's another thing to find out it was only for control and gains.
Danielle Steel made sure nobody was immune to the lighting strikes and even the parents had their share of shock value. Affairs, marriages, divorces, it's all on the line.
The nice ending that wrapped up the lives of each of the couples was a great touch to let readers know exactly how they weathered the storms in each of their lives.
A truly great piece by the wonderful Danielle Steel.
Thank you to Danielle, the publisher Random House, Netgalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest revew.

Book Review: "City Of Dreams" By Don Winslow
I absolutely loved the first City of Dreams but this wasn't my cup of tea.
You see as a strong feminine woman I don't enjoy women being portrayed as eye candy, pieces of meat, and body parts as if you can't have brains and brawn. One of my biggest pet peeves is the portrayal of women in a male dominated world and this just ate at me raw.
The female characters were either sex slaved, drug addicted, or in your words, "whores."
It's a huge turn-off and takes away from the story being told but therein lies my next issue. The plot didn't go anywhere. We seemingly went from Danny being a gangster, heroine addict, and loser in his own right to Route 66 for kicks and not much behind the romps.
In fact, by the end it was all but a dream on a beach and it really was lost on me as I normally don't give bad reviews.
Here's some of what I wrote in my notes and I quote, " Christ, but the tits on her, and those legs."
"He went to a whore and did his business...Then he made a confession, said his prayers of penance, and lit a candle and asked for Bridget's forgiveness... A man has needs and flesh is weak. It meant nothing."
"Blow job lips."
"Ana's petite, but with a nice rack..."
Not to mention the religious quotes that were offensive and seemed to be tossed in for shock value to increase sales ...
" I know Catholic girls ... you can't get them started, but once you do you can't get them stopped."
"Three dates later, when she gave it up, she gave it all up."
Or, perhaps the quotes that were vulgar even from women... "Well at least you got your rocks off."
"Star pussy" probably sealed the deal for me.
It was just disgusting and it took away from my interests in reading it anymore when you disrespect women in this manner.
To make it even more interesting we have a movie actress named Diane who then makes loves with this gangster and all holy heck breaks loose.
Diane Carson's own brother had killed on her behalf and now Jarrod the bro is dead because someone uncovered another disturbing piece of this puzzle involving rape.
One overdoses on pills while another fights for the rights as we all must pay for our sins and as the ending suggests it's all but a dream ...
Book Review: "Am I Lying To Myself" By Jane Greer
The concrete, precise, clear-cut examples through real life stories of clients as well as the process to providing healthy thoughts and boundaries is exactly what's needed in our chaotic and toxic world.
Jane Greer provides the answers by using simplistic dialogue formatted for the daily consumer.
Look at facts, don't ignore actions is just one part of this equation.
To fully understand you must honestly have lived it. This is where I differ with Jane.
I believe in the totality of the circumstances and you can't understand if you use hearsay or third party intervention.
I've been homeless, bankrupt, lt unemployed (29 yrs) with a dual masters plus 20 years experience in volunteering. Yet, for 12 years all I heard in the job market was simply, NO.
What we must understand is while you might consider someone's story as 'complaining' those living those 'injustices' from a broken and tattered system meant to suppress aren't feeling the love and support.
If just one person 'listened' and 'offered a hand up not out' what a wonderful world it woud be but sadly greed has taken hold and even among non profits meant to help. Funding is limited or non existent. Programs are shut down and wiped out. Non profits are short funded and lack personnel to handle high case loads.
What we must not lose sight of is most people don't enjoy poverty, bankruptcy, homelessness, addictions, or the like. What they need is merely 'help.'
Yet, we shy away, find fault, seek blame or shame, and re-victimize because we as humans can't relate to the story being told.
Now, while I might agree there's some pitiful stories I also believe these individuals are trying their best in a system designed to fail them.
We must get to the root of the problem and rather than offering a band-aid and seeking alternatives we need to offer an answer.
In this mode of thinking it's not just suggestive thinking to offer a hold on tight idea. Hell, people left on the street with 3 kids (eldest med disabled) like myself have seen that light. We know the warning signs but sadly by the time they're shown from a malignant narcissist we're already on the outside looking in.
I've had a 2 year weight list for housing, food stamps, medical assistance, and in the interim I had zero income as a homemaker and mom of three. I wasn't allowed to work -not that I didn't die trying to escape.
I was told my income wouldn't be sufficient to support a family and to stay home and raise the family while my spouse and I agreed to split the income for our household.
You see that's but a dream. A quick summary of the 4 year battle to get divorced using 4 attorneys to finally see freedom thanks in large part to my family.
However, not everyone is so lucky and sadly they falter to a life of hopelessness, depression, and non livable wages.
I read this book to find answers and I did come away with those answers in how to get others to see from a survival mode rather than a love mode of thinking.
When you live in a 'flight or fight' response the triggers are not easy for others to understand and often we need listening and help not condemnation and ridicule.
My hope is that this book might help both sides of this dilemma from society, to the client, to the average family member wondering how best to address the problems.
Spending money how a narc sees fit, having sex when only he's interested, was just the tip of the iceberg. The abuse behind closed doors, the shame/blame/revictimization, and the constant eggshell moments of Jekyll and Hyde persona makes one emptied from the soul.
I relate to many of the stories told in this regard and can attest to the truthfullness of the words being spoken.
I enjoyed the suggestions:
Read the small print, do emotional math, hold on tight, look in rearview mirror, set your date, lean in rather than lean back, thread the needle, know when to hold them and fold them, use what you know, address your distress, and lastly wait to be asked.
All are great ideas but as I stated earlier please don't lose sight of where the emotions stem and how to better address them in the totality of the circumstances.
People are quick to judge, to make assumptions, to presume wrongly, and then to try to right the wrongs.
Last I checked the only perfect individual who hasn't made mistakes is above. We must end the shame, guilt, and revictimization and begin the healing.
Book Review: "I Will Find You" By Harlan Coben
A father accused of murdering his son is not only facing a life behind bars but a lifetime of heartache. That's until he escapes with the help of some friend(s) and arrives at a destination with the help of some close relatives.
The question that has been haunting him is who took Matthew his 3 yo son? And , better yet, why?
Could Matt still be alive?
With the help of Rachel (his wife's sister) he vows to uphold his name and get back his son even if it means death.
Escaping like Spiderman was just one part of his journey as he now goes after the person responsible.
It's a harrowing experience that will keep you on your toes. The audio was superb with extremely well versed and well spoken lines that captured every minute detail.
The confusion begins when a digital pic is presented of his possible son. Could it actually be true?
Setting out to uncover the facts leads to a series of carefully plotted scenarios that seemed daunting.
Yet, pain is the name of the game in more ways than one both literally and figuratively (no pun intended).
What begins as a cat and mouse game soon becomes a near death experience as it all goes over seas.
We uncover deeply disturbing results from those closest to the family and learn that not everything is at it appears.
Someone lied and someone may have to die because of it.
The shoot out is just part of the heightened level of awareness. The ending was the bomb!
Loved it all and so happy for the parties involved.
All's well that ends well.
Thank you to my local public free library for this audio. It was a blessing in disguise.
Please support local libraries. They need our love!

Book Review: "In The Lives Of Puppets: By TJ Klune
Hot -diggity-dog! That was surreal, explosive, and full of colorful characters with emotional overload!
The entire process was magnifying yet simplistic that was crafted with love and full of appeal for readers of all ages, colors, creeds, and backgrounds.I love how it seemingly flowed from what appeared to be a fairy tale feel to a concrete slab of expressions that exuded far beyond the pages while crashing into the lust forestry of common sense.
We have many characters here from an inventor, to a nurse, and a human to boot. We also have the pleasure of seeing first hand the relationships collectively.
Sure humans are inherently flawed but are they evil?
Loyalty is it a companion or a farse?
Can loyalty be destroyed and will an olive branch being offered be suffice to mend a broken heart?
What if humans want to be prisoners of their own demise? Stuck in the land of forgotten?
What is the heart's greater good? What have you been created for? Who shall you respond too in kind?
If you become corrupted what shall we do?
OMG!
As if this wasn't enough to ponder all the senses ...
We have all the tools we need in life, what say you we shall do?
Truth can and will set you free but it will also bring you out from denial.
The question remains--Is there more to life than what you've been created for by your master?
Will Gio and Hap find common ground and rebuild the past>as who we care for tethers us.
Many may wonder how are you still standing?
Many will respond, " A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf."
So, is being corrupt, cruel, greedy, selfish, and cunning a downfall to humankind?
Are sacrifices necessary for survival?
Growing wings and flying above it all is worthwhile but can a cocoon blossom into a butterfly when it's been held down and torn apart?
Can broken wings be repaired?
"With all great tasks come sacrifice."
In the "City of Electric Dreams" anything can happen as the last of the humans can see the monarchs. Love is hope. Hope is love!
Thank you to TJ Klune, MacMillan Audio, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
