Book Review: "What is a Girl Worth" By Rachael Denhollander

If you want a book that illustrates the power of one voice to create change coupled with the force of many voices in showcasing the horror of cover ups and abuse than this is your book.

Nobody wants to be a target, to put themselves in harm's way, yet we know to save others we must.

Rachael Denhollander is a hero to so many for being the first to speak out against the abuse suffered by Larry Nassar and USA Gymnastics. She is the force behind the justice for all.

This should be required reading for many individuals especially those in the family courts as so often we find women's voices being silenced, not believed, adding to their trauma and forcing them to relive it under constant constraints and pressure of those unaware of just how damaging it all is upon them.

I'm a survivor and I've read over 1k books a year and I assure you I've never had a book bring me to tears, moved me so profoundly, and inspired me so dramatically as this one.
It's so well written, so beautifully and thoughtfully processed, so eloquently illustrated in words that my own writing probably won't do it justice.

"What is a girl worth" "These children are worth everything the law can offer."
"Little girls don't stay little forever. They grow into strong women that return to destroy your world."

How much is a young woman worth?

In the end this is what it looks like:
When selfish desires override safety and love for others.
When adults ignore sex assault claims.
When institutions create a culture where predators can go unafraid and unabated.
When authority figures refused to listen, fail to create proper policy, and fail to provide justice.

In the end the more you love the harder you fight.

What I've come to know and have counselled other to do is to journal. To write. To tell your story. To make your voices heard.

One alone is not making waves. Together it's a sunami.

When women stand united we stand proud and we cannot be ignored.
This book literally gave me goose bumps because the ending was truly powerful.
The voices that spoke out against abuse.

The lives that were taken at such an early age and altered but not destroyed.
There's a saying that even broken crayons still color and this is so damn true.
Hell hath no fury like a women scorned.

We must protect one another.

We must not be afraid to speak.

When people asks why we didn't speak out we must not be embarrassed or ashamed or guilt tripped into staying silent.

This is not ours to own. This is the sickness, illness, and abusive toxic behavior of men who have gotten away with crimes that should've been stopped from the first hint of trouble.

I'm dealing now with a malignant narcissist who seeks to destroy me and our family. My main goal is to protect my kids.

I know what's like to live in the flight or fight response and I know what's like to be downgraded and not believed.

Yet like air I rise ...and so shall you!

Never give up and for the author I commend you for your efforts here.

This book has moved me in ways you cannot explain in mere words.

You have touched on sensitive topics that truly needed to be explained in entirety and you have done all survivors justice in your writings.

God Bless all survivors of abuse and their families.

Book Review: "Be Careful What You Wish For" By Hallie Ephron

What do you get when you have a professional organizer whose husband is a hoarder?

Of course you get conspiracy that leads to murder between two new clients who ponder the idea how much better life would be without their spouses constant collecting behaviors.

Now Emily may lose her freedom, her marriage, and possibly her life!

With a new set of clues around every corner don't be too anxious to jump on the trail thinking you have it all figured out as curve balls and speed bumps are found throughout this entire novel.

A great mystery, suspense, and action packed thriller by Hallie Ephron who admits her own spouse is similar to those she's written about here.

Book Review: "The Guilty Mother" By Diane Jeffrey

A mother's life hangs in the balance on appeal as her twin girls have suddenly passed from what may not be as clear cut as it seems.

The final determination was cot death but is that truly what happened or is it something more.

Questions are forming and our journalist Jonathan may be the only one able to secure answers alongside Kelly our rookie reporter.

Tense and unpredictable seems to sum it all up nicely.

Edge of your seat thriller is further defined by authors like Diane Jeffrey.

Book Review: "The Last Widow" By Karin Slaughter

A female CDC scientist is kidnapped and it becomes this race against time to save her.

What you may not realize is that the entire experience involves terrorist and twisty plots including a bombing near the headquarters of the FBI, Emory College, two major hospitals, and the CDC putting many lives in danger.

A conspiracy begins to unravel as Sara a med examiner and her partner Will race to the scene of the crime.

The only solution is to go undercover and for Will this means life or death after the assailants abduct Sara.

Lives are at risk and time is ticking....

Book Review: "The Oysterville Sewing Circle" By Susan Wiggs

Can you imagine leaving your hometown after your best friends marries your first true love only to have to return back and deal with it all full circle?

Well this is exactly the scenario here as Caroline Shelby has been named legal guardian of her deceased friends children while also being unemployed requiring the help of her family and friends.

So she forms a women's support group after her heart was broken and in this group there's plenty of hard hitting topics being discussed including domestic violence, sexual assault, and addiction.

The end result is women helping others was a nice appeal but the story bounces from personal stories of other characters to the sewing circle and back so you may feel it's a bit disjointed in parts which leaves it feeling unfinished and not quite revealing or developed as it should feel in the end.

Book Review: "The Other's Gold" By Elizabeth Ames

A bunch of forged relationships from women in college that seems to go nowhere and probably wouldn't have endured in real life.

I'm not sure the point but for me this felt too forced and too out of left field to make a go of it all.

A pact to keep one another's secrets but the secrets were a bit odd and actually felt out of character.

If felt rushed as if the author had a timeline to conquer and had to throw it all in the pot to stew and come out with something concrete before the time expired.

For me it just didn't connect on an emotional or intellectual appeal.

Book Review: "Is There Still Sex In The City" By Candace Bushnell

Never watched the show, never read any prior work by this author, probably won't adventure out this far in the future.

For me it was a crash course for dummies in dating, in life, in single hood after 50, in divorce, and friendships.

It was honest to a point like a memoir yet it was quite depressing and non inspirational for the remainder and quite frankly I'm wondering how these friendships in which she spilled the beans now feel including her own son.

With this said I'm sure others may enjoy the rich dilemma's but when you're poor you can't truly relate to this back and forth drama with mortgages and the like when you're tossed out of your home on the street with your three kids during divorce while waiting for child support after giving up your grad degrees to raise your family...if you get what I'm saying.

So for those who can relate to the Housewives of Beverly Hills saga congrats but for me it's not my cup of tea.

Book Review: "A Better Man" By Louise Penny

"The waters were rising up, not in protest but in revenge."

What would you do if your child's killer walked free?

These quotes set up the entire premise here as we feel everything from the characters emotions, to the natural flooding, to the raging heartfelt action that's taking place throughout the plot.

While the plot is strong it's because it's played out on the backs of the characters that are full action and suspense mixed with the common toxic relationships and mid level dramas that we've come to love.

The wisdom, the life lessons, the sense of empowerment it's all in here and ready for the taking to absorb in every readers mind.

In the end even broken crayons color and the human element of compassion, empathy, love, and support is an award winning recipe that captures the hearts and refuses to let go.

Book Review: "Outfox" By Sandra Brown

First to note here I'm a major fan of all things Sandra Brown.

This perhaps was not her finest hour as the protagonist, the main character, the entire plot was just not what I had hoped to receive as I know her talent that she possesses and has shown.

With that said Drex for me was obnoxious in pursuing a married woman named Talia who happened to be in a precarious and or dangerous situation with her own marriage.
In fact readers wondered if Talia was in fact an accomplice to her spouse's actions or a victim.

Connor Weston Graham has some questionable activity on his end with numerous aliases over a 30 yr span having had 8 women vanish shortly after meeting new men in their lives.
Could the next victim be his wife is the question but the answer is clouded with mystery and intrigue.

It turns out their may be an affair or two to remember here but for me the lack of a strong woman is what did me in along with the portrayal of a romp in the hay rather than a real romance with available individuals.

The end for me sealed the deal with a lackluster shine in Drex's accomplishments we shall say as he skirts around it all and tries to stay above the law.

For me it was just not the norm I'm willing to accept from a well known writer and I'm not sure if it's the pressure to turn out so many novels from publishers too quickly or what but this one missed the mark for me.

That's not to say I'd not read another as Sandra Brown is the queen of her genre.

Book Review: Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law By Haben Girma

Haben Girma had to overcome numerous challenges and did so with grace, dignity, and superb insight.

Yet through all these challenges she never changed who she was internally and kept her stand to help others in the fight for the same working closely with Americans with Disabilities.

Her story doesn't have a beginning , middle, or an end as she is busy living it in full fashion for the world to see including but not limited to the Former President and Vice President of the United States of America Obama and Biden.

So it's not everyday you can read a book about a deafblind woman who not only conquered Harvard Law but also life in general.

From dealing with icebergs to getting around campus, to making life safer for others, to using her seeing eye dog, it's all here.

So give it a go as she has a remarkable story , a passion, a drive, and a will to succeed in any challenge that comes her way.

Book Review: "America Is Better Than This" By Jeff Merkley

Zero tolerance is Zero Humanity!

This is not our America. The America that welcomed in those fleeing from abuse and violence. Those seeking safety. Those wanting to have a better life for themselves and their families.

Is this the new norm under the current administration?

Is this the United States that has been the gateway to the future?

Is this the wake up call we need as immigrants are fleeing for their lives?

The stories are incredible, the pain is real, this Oregon senator has been there to witness it all first hand however the story cannot end there.

This must be the wheel for change as change is needed in DT's immigration policies and those who enable them.

It could end if America decided to take a stand and be that change. Fighting these internment camps, shutting down these make shift facilities, calling every congressman or women and voicing their concerns daily can be accomplished in ending it all.

Yet talk is cheap and action is needed!

Is American Better than This? Or is this what we've come to know as America?!

I ask as many of us are busy trying to simply survive and we have no time to devote to fighting wars on the front line that many seem are built into the red tape and bureaucracy.
So do what you can from afar seems to be the going rate but at what cost to those

desperately clinging to life, hope, and change?

With the mass immigration our facilities lack proper care, nutrition, medical intervention, and inoculations. They are afraid to speak out against the lack of care and attention to detail for fear of retribution and loss of family being forced to move into a different caring facility.

So these individuals endure hardships that cannot be conveyed appropriately without a clear visual and then it's back to work and back to the daily grind of living for Americans.
We cannot do it alone, we must join together, we must unite if we intend to change for the better and the common good.

Book Review: "Thank You For My Service" By Mat Best

A hero, an entrepreneur, a man seeking redemption and change for all veterans.

It all began with his mom wishing he was a girl but instead noting there's still time as Bruce Jenner aka Caitlyn never changed gender till sixties.

Aside from this there's plenty about being a Baller and a man of strength, courage, and character.

It takes quite a bit to be an Army Ranger with the grueling nature of it all, the training, the rigorous exercise, the commitment.

I applaud Mat in keeping it real and being so easy on the eyes. But this was not always the case and it's heart warming to read the reality check version portrayed here.
This may not be the most well written piece but who cares it's authentic, it's honest, it's truth and it speaks volumes to those on the outside looking in.

Wonder what it's like to be in the 'war mentality' all the time? Read on!

Wonder what it's like to face your enemy on the battle field? Read on!

Wonder what's left of Isis or terrorist after setting off and or detonating suicide bombs and the like? Read on...particularly about the grenade and the body part.

It brings to the front light the manner in which veterans are treated upon their return to the states. It's not all roses and rainbows as PTSD, trauma, and the feel of still being at war is like an alluring drink that must be consumed daily.

How does one shut it all off and go back to 'normalcy'?

Not everyone sees the violence, not everyone hears the cries for help, not everyone buries a member of their team, not everyone can be fit to serve...

So when you see these men and women serving on the front line don't be afraid to thank them but do so in a real authentic way not in a feel sorry for you way.

These individuals are doing what they love in serving our country and they don't want pity just acceptance and love.

Amen brother! Freedom on! Thank you for your service from this Cold War Navy Veteran's daughter!

Book Review: "The Orphan's Song" By Lauren Kate

"A song brought them together. A secret will tear them apart."

"Life was like music; if you changed a single note, you changed the entire song."

A trip to Venice has inspired the author to write about it's history, its culture, its orphanages.

While this was beautiful and awe inspiring the story started to falter for me with the execution.

It begins with a romance of sorts and a defiance by Violetta to form and mold her own rebellious ways all minor in substance until Mino came into her life as her first love.

A song tied them together however Incurables were taught to be obedient and chaste a mold she surely cannot endure over time.

The touching, the feeling, the emotions begin to stir as the passion is in her voice and Mino's hands.

It advances to Mino and Violetta being torn apart through distance but not for loss of thought.

Every moment is spent thinking of her and wondering how she is doing even after he marries and procures a child.

The familiar theme of love and romance felt more dark and isolated while the theme of abandonment, loss, and sacrifice took over. The entire twists with the past coming to head with the present was truly the spark that was needed here.

It began for me strong, subsided in the middle, and felt good in the end and I'm certain there will be more to come from this talented author for whom I'm just getting to know.

Book Review: "A Dangerous Man" By Robert Crais

A bank teller was kidnapped by abductors who turn up dead upon being able to post bail.

Now Joe Pike has vowed to find out where Isabel has gone while calling on his friend Elvis Cole to help make sense of it all.

Could Isabel not be telling the whole story here or is it something far less sinister.

A family story gone awry in this new thriller by Robert Crais is sure to entice readers of all ages
.

Book Review: "The Russia Account" By Stephen Coonts

A young girl is kidnapped. Her mother has ties to Russia funneling money through her Bank of Scandinavia.

Now all hands are on deck trying to uncover where this money is coming from and how this operation is being played out with our major CIA Op Tommy seeking to find the young girl in Estonia while the CIA director Grafton assigns his men to find out the sequence of the money changing hands from the bank through the local churches and organizations.

Many of the characters are a direct play out of our current political nightmare in the highest office(s) of the land.

Sadly it's not all that far fetched especially with the enablers who will blindly follow the Prez off a cliff.

I would've like a more lively ratcheted up version of thrills but this was good.

Book Review: "Filthy Rich" By James Patterson

I would've entitled this another episode of the "Big Boys Club" because it's another case of a wealthy man exploiting his wealth to gain power and control over young and nieve young girls.

These girls were not even of legal age and in my opinion having married a man of similar fashion that's stat rape.

This was like a cult set up with each individual player knowing full well the role they must play and the corrupt cover up that it entailed.

The fact that Epstein was friends with some heavy hitters like Bill Clinton, Alan Dershowitz, DT, and more is just part of the aura of the high profile celeb status this man obtained based on being a con artist.

When I entered into modeling in my late teens I was told about guys like this after signing on with a modeling agency.

I'll never forget the look of fear on some of the young ladies faces knowing these monsters are out there preying upon our most vulnerable.

I'm sorry folks but there comes a time we must call a dog a dog.

This man is sick, he operated from a false sense of self, a charmer for sure.

What truly ticked me was the end in which James Patterson gave a list of questions he'd ask this sicko and he noted he'd ask about his relationship with Bill Clinton!

Must I say any more?!

It's not a surprise James teamed up with Bill and wrote The President Is Missing in 2018!
Knowledge is power and you know the saying...

While I read this in 2019 I'm not feeling this was necessarily a suicide on Jeffrey's part. Ironically they claim he took his life just two days after leaving his vast wealth in a will to his brother.

Seems quite the next story plot for James...

Book Review: "Hudson's Kill" By Paddy Hirsch

It's New York in 1803 a time of great peril when everyone is fighting for a piece of this expanding city.

A young black girl turns up dead in an alleyway known for prostitution.
Why has nobody come to claim the body of this young girl (13 -14yo)?

The investigation leads to a high wall compound that inhabitants want to keep hidden. But why?

What are they hiding behind those walls?

Justy and Kerry have one dangerous investigation to contend with and one that will surely take readers into many precarious situations.

A must read thriller!

Book Review: "When Life Gives You Pears" By Jeannine Gaffigan

Sincerity, hilarity, heartfelt love, & with SuperMom charm Jeannie is someone we should all welcome in to our homes.

Prior to this Goodreads giveaway I had no idea about Jeannie and her career. However after reading this I feel like we are the best of friends.

I'm an empath. I feel emotion more than anyone else and this was chock full of nuts, soul, and compassion.

It will have you laugh, cry, and split your pants laughing....

Can you imagine a brain tumor can somehow put your whole life and future into an entirely different realm? One that is positive for all?

I can't imagine her pain, her adversity, her courage to face the unthinkable.

What I can note is I've had a friend die from brain cancer and he always had carried this backpack around with him. I had no idea that backpack was to keep him alive.

I later learned he had stage 4 glioblastoma and passed away rather quickly from initial diagnosis leaving behind a wife and two handsome boys.

I say this because life is short. Life must be lived to the fullest.

I believe after reading this Jeannine had several angels on her shoulder.

I also believe it was meant for a reason. To slow down and enjoy what she may have been taking advantage of all those years.

While she mentioned she's not going to write about God and faith she definitely has been touched by someone from up above.

Her relationship with her family and friends has clearly grown from this alarming situation.

What we fail to realize is the toll it takes upon our loved ones when Super Moms get sick.

Jeannine is lucky to have such great support as not all of us have such a supportive system in place.

Book Review: "Beyond Charlottesville" By Terry McAuliffe

As a survivor of DV&NPD I have to take a stand with the survivors who were present and not watching the action play out from afar.

Those on the front line fighting against white nationalism, hatred, bigotry, racism and more.

I have spent over 18 yrs involved with a malignant narcissist (married 11 of those yrs) with three kids together. I know how the game is played. I know how the shame, the blame, the guilt trip works upon those seeking to simply live in peace and harmony.

So when I first read this I immediately thought to myself why did he not do anything? Why wait to see what 'DT' might say about it. Why check it out from a window and not be down in the heat of it resolving it.

Now I know why after reading the reviews of my fellow survivors....who spoke more eloquently and real than anything I read in this book.

Truth hurts but truth will set you free.

Tell your story and never back down in remaining silent.

What those who've not experienced abuse don't understand is it's all about power/control. It's a mind game. A manipulation. A way in which to silent the masses.

To get ahead they trample upon the rights of others to make a quick buck and win over the views of those who are not angelic but attempt to portray as such and those of us who have lived it can see through the smoke and fog.

Blaming the President and talking but not acting is pretty much the same we've come to know as the 'new norm' but those of us who want and need change know that talk is cheap.

We watch actions not words!

Living in fear, constant fight or flight, and nonstop paranoia is not a way to live.
This is 2019!!! We need to wake up not talk a good talk!

Proactive not Reactive!
Transparency in government not Photo ops!
Action not words!

Go....

Book Review: "Sheerhan" By Sean Smith

A perfect rendition for Ed Sheerhan fans everywhere that incorporates plenty of interviews and new research to make a great read.

Ed seems a bit off center in terms of his own lane and while he's been accused of affairs they mostly turned into relationships albeit one nighters with Taylor Swift friends.

She is after all someone who helped his career along with a few other A-Listers so it's not far fetched with this help that he became a global sensation.

Whether or not he stays there may be anyone's guess as he appeals to many but he's not everyone's cup of tea.

I'd definitely agree with this statement made by the author: "there’s no one quite like Ed."

Book Review: "A Predator and A Psychopath" By Jay Kerk

When rating books there's the plot and the execution and for me the latter fell short.

While I have knowledge in this subject matter as a malignant narcissist survivor of a psychopath I don't believe that swayed the feeling that this was ultimately between a 3-4 star review.

The problems I had with this was the title as it's ambiguity leaving readers wondering is this one person with two personas or two different individuals Jason and Jerry respectively.

I married and happily divorced a character like the ones explained here and I assure you he never spoke of himself or others in first person. He was always detached and treated others as if they didn't exists as figments of the imagination. Or as one suggestion recommends: "First, You let the protagonist referring to himself/herself as the third person."

The second issue I had was the sexual innuendos and graphic detail with Jerry our sex deviant.

It was a bit overblown and had forced me to skim over because it was too much to take in all at once.

While the plot with Jason being accused of having sex with his daughter and possibly killing his wife was subjective to readers it was hard for me to get into the feel of it all.
It left me wanting more and for me the ending left me pondering what might have been or could have been.

Plenty of talent here but the loose ends were hard for me to overcome.

All in all it was a decent read and would entertain reading another by this author.

Book Review: "Dangerous Charisma" By Jerrold Post

Two things caught my eye on this one having had over 18 yrs experience in dealing with a malignant narcissist myself having been married to one for 11 of those years with three kids together and they were : "This narrative not only examines the life and psychology of Donald Trump, but will also provide an analysis of the charismatic psychological tie between Trump and his supporters and As the founding director of the CIA’s Center for the Analysis of Personality and Political Behavior, Dr. Post has created profiles of world leaders for the use of American presidents during historic events 'a pioneer in the field of political personality profiling,' 'he may be the only psychiatrist who has specialized in the self-esteem problems of both Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.' "

This information coupled with the normal gradiation of personality trait disorders in depth anaylsis is why I picked this up.

There comes a time when the enablers, the flying monkeys, the hard chore die hard supporters must face reality and stop living a life of denial, blame, and shame.
What you see is what you get and I can't be any less clear in that diagnosis.

While you cannot diagnose from afar according to the Goldwater Rule I'm damn sure you can be open and receptive to the truths that surround you.

The trail of destruction, the devalue, the discard, the god like leader to all, it's all very dangerous. The Us v Them mentality is creating division among us all.

The manipulation, the grandiose ego, the obnoxious non intellectual conversations, the feeling that he's above the law is not what our forefounders imagined in our highest office of the land.

Regardless of political views these narcs will have you forget what you've ever been told. They will use their charm, their devotion to a cause which is the ONE, the magnetic persona, the loner abandoned wo wis me personality to make you feel empathy for them.
Don't be fooled it's a trap.

Malignant narcs are all about vanity , the me syndrome, the only one they care for is themselves.
With all due respect everyone has a price, everyone is disposable, and no more so than in the eyes of a malignant narc. You only hold value if you can provide a source of supply, a sense of loyalty, a form of benefit, an ideal of valuation to the master.

If you go along to get along you'll do well but never upset the apple cart, never ask questions, never try to be an independent voice among the masses or you'll be struck down.

Narcs are competitive they seek to win at all costs, even if they lose they will twist the facts to fit their agenda.

Folks I know how this story ends. I've lived it and I wish to God those who believe in the lies, the brain washing, the temper tantrums, the projectory, the mirroring, the emotional blackmail would understand this is not a behavioral issue but a personality trait disorder based on the DSM Manual.

You cannot fix it alone. You cannot ignore the problems. You cannot turn a blind eye and hope for hopes sake it ends well.

We have a saying it's an empty bottomless pit of nothingness for a reason. These narcs cannot be pleased. You can give your entire self completely and lose yourself in the process and they will walk away without a moment's hesitation.

The wives, the children, the family members are secondary not primary in their lives. There's no love, no commitment, nothing but appearance sake for how you shall look to attract more followers and create a likeable image.

It's about how one sells themselves...It's all about being a con man. A jekyll and hyde and I can't stress that enough.

I understand the middle class worker wants recognition, they want improvements, they want a leader they can trust but this is not your man.

Check reality and check accomplishments and you'll see the high turnover, the lack of control, the lack of respect from our allies, the lack of intellect, the bullying nature, the disgusting need for attention and spotlighting.

You don't need to go far to see his selling points have yet to hit their mark. MAGA is nothing more than a sales pitch that's failed miserably.

I've yet to meet a narc that's financially stable, that can operate normally w/o a fight or flight response upon their victims, a person of this magnitude that's well respected in their career or by those who know them best.

Talk to those they left behind, the ex partners, the ex co workers, the ex friends they all have something in common.

This much negative cannot be positive.

For those who think he's playing others, he's getting what he came for, he's riding high it's a farse from a false sense of self.

He's not fooling those who lived it. He's not fooling those who live with anxiety and fear and trepidation because of his actions , thoughts, mannerisms, and failure to keep America safe.
It's a choice that must be made in 2020 and I hope you see through the smoke, fog, and mirrors.

The Lost Self Life After Narcissism is my page on FB if you care to join me there along with 40k across 45 countries worldwide .

Book Review: "The Sixth Wicked Child" By JD Barker

I'm relatively knew to the reading world so forgive me as I've read two of the three in the 4MK series however for me this one banged it out so well that I think I'll go back and read the 1st The Fourth Monkey.

What I loved about this was reading fellow reviewers reviews because if my blogger pals aren't into it then I'm pretty darn sure it's a good pass for me as I read over 1k books a year and can't waste my time.

My friends in the book world had this one pegged as a thriller of mass proportion and they were right.

No matter the reason you must read this and don't worry if you've not read previous works as it stands alone fine in my opinion because the writing is suspenseful, the characters are dynamic, the action is thoughtful and deliberate.

It all goes down with Anson Bishop are main suspect however there's plenty here that also disqualifies him. For example the across the country crimes, the way in which the victims were killed, and more.

What got to me was the single message binding all these crimes together, ""Father, forgive me."

I don't know about you but chilling comes to mind...

If you think the party's over it's just beginning..

The hospital action is next with a virus running rampant and twists around every damn corner.

The other core piece of evidence is a diary which may just prove Bishop's innocence and perhaps pin it all on a rogue cop.

Can Barker flush it all out?

Can Sam Porter finish the job?

The action is intense, the heat is sizzling, the truth is sinister but damming.

I loved it all and hope you do as well.

Book Review: "Life on Loan" By Ashley Farley

The minute I seen this on NetGalley I jumped at the chance to "read now."
You often don't get 2nd chances to do anything in this day and age and I knew if you snooze you loose.

I couldn't risk this being depleted to other bloggers without being given a chance to read an author I've admired for her courage, her tenacity, her strength to overcome loss.

Saving Ben is one of her works I've not read but heard plenty of reviews and want to read desperately.

In this case Life on Loan is about women, for women, with love to women everywhere.
It's about recovery, reclaiming, and rebuilding for anyone who has felt loss in love with divorce or with toxic friends and or family members.

It's a story of two women in their prime who are struggling with relationships in different fashions.

Lena has a troubled life at home while Olivia her college friend is dealing with the aftermath of divorce.

Both need a new restart to life and both find a way to overcome after shaking it up a bit with a retreat of sorts.

It turns out they exchange lives and houses for 34 days.

Will this be exactly what they needed to find themselves and move forward?

A great new work from Ashley Farley that never disappoints readers.
