Aside from this there's plenty about being a Baller and a man of strength, courage, and character.
It takes quite a bit to be an Army Ranger with the grueling nature of it all, the training, the rigorous exercise, the commitment.
I applaud Mat in keeping it real and being so easy on the eyes. But this was not always the case and it's heart warming to read the reality check version portrayed here.
This may not be the most well written piece but who cares it's authentic, it's honest, it's truth and it speaks volumes to those on the outside looking in.

It brings to the front light the manner in which veterans are treated upon their return to the states. It's not all roses and rainbows as PTSD, trauma, and the feel of still being at war is like an alluring drink that must be consumed daily.
How does one shut it all off and go back to 'normalcy'?
Not everyone sees the violence, not everyone hears the cries for help, not everyone buries a member of their team, not everyone can be fit to serve...
So when you see these men and women serving on the front line don't be afraid to thank them but do so in a real authentic way not in a feel sorry for you way.
These individuals are doing what they love in serving our country and they don't want pity just acceptance and love.
