Book Review: "Troubled Water" By Seth Siegel

The trouble with clean drinking water didn't happen overnight nor will it be solved in one day. It began way before Flint Michigan or California but it won't end with just toilet to tap solutions.

Treating raw sewage for human consumption may be just the start as many areas are seeking clean water solutions to the numerous health problems from lead, radon, perchlorates, to contaminants that are less well known but equally destructive to the human body.

These contaminants result in everything from cancer to birth defects and yes sadly even death.

While fracking may have been a quick buck for the poor here in NEPA it caused plenty of hardships and deaths with flammable water now being the new norm.

Solutions for these issues are not readily available but for some they are generating ideas such as smart pipes, reverse osmosis, ultra violet and ozone treament and atmospheric water generators

We need to truly move away from EPA to HHS regulations if we plan to have any hope for future generations.

What I enjoyed here in this work by Seth Siegel was his extensive research, intellect, and clearly well defined solutions and goals.

These objectives are not out of reach but we do need Congress to begin the process if we are to have hope for our future.

I hope this is the wake up call many of us need!
