Book Review: "America Is Better Than This" By Jeff Merkley

Zero tolerance is Zero Humanity!

This is not our America. The America that welcomed in those fleeing from abuse and violence. Those seeking safety. Those wanting to have a better life for themselves and their families.

Is this the new norm under the current administration?

Is this the United States that has been the gateway to the future?

Is this the wake up call we need as immigrants are fleeing for their lives?

The stories are incredible, the pain is real, this Oregon senator has been there to witness it all first hand however the story cannot end there.

This must be the wheel for change as change is needed in DT's immigration policies and those who enable them.

It could end if America decided to take a stand and be that change. Fighting these internment camps, shutting down these make shift facilities, calling every congressman or women and voicing their concerns daily can be accomplished in ending it all.

Yet talk is cheap and action is needed!

Is American Better than This? Or is this what we've come to know as America?!

I ask as many of us are busy trying to simply survive and we have no time to devote to fighting wars on the front line that many seem are built into the red tape and bureaucracy.
So do what you can from afar seems to be the going rate but at what cost to those

desperately clinging to life, hope, and change?

With the mass immigration our facilities lack proper care, nutrition, medical intervention, and inoculations. They are afraid to speak out against the lack of care and attention to detail for fear of retribution and loss of family being forced to move into a different caring facility.

So these individuals endure hardships that cannot be conveyed appropriately without a clear visual and then it's back to work and back to the daily grind of living for Americans.
We cannot do it alone, we must join together, we must unite if we intend to change for the better and the common good.
