Book Review: "Our New Normal" By Colleen Faulkner

Staying true to self even after hardships threaten to crack you to the very core!

This is the dilemma for any teen parent especially when you have multiple teens with one off in college and another soon to be right behind her son as Hazel is now 16yo.

I'm so glad I read this for multiple reasons including the strain on the marriage and having to come together on all fronts when things don't work out as one may have hoped.
It turns out Hazel became pregnant and vows to not only have the baby but stay with Tyler the baby's father.

Tyler as it turns out isn't the most attentive young man and there's troubled waters that must be discussed including how if Hazel keeps the baby we know the parents will be doing overtime to tend and provide for their grandchild.

How can someone so young be capable of making such a huge life altering decision?
Liv the mother knows how hard it is to raise a child having been adopted herself and has plenty of concerns that need to be ironed out while Oscar her husband chooses a much different path.

Can they all come together for the sake of the unborn or will this be a split that will forever go unhealed?

I love how this book addresses the issue of not only adoption but parenting and teen pregnancy in a way that's empathetic yet solidly constructed well defined truthful and heartfelt authentically written advice.

Colleen Faulkner has touched on a subject that is every parents top concern for teens in today's high tech ultra fast growing up world.
