Book Review: "The Runaway" By Hollie Overton

The Runaway for me missed the mark!

What begins as a wild and freaky intro that captivated me it ended with a good feel in adopting Ash her foster child but left me wanting more.

The entire book was a race against time and circumstances.
Ash is 16yo and quite impressionable as she hooks up with a homeless young man who belongs to a cult. This cult known as the Tribe run by 'Mo' is intriguing yet dangerous.
Both Becca (LAPD forensic psychologist) and her foster daughter Ash would've been better spending some good qualities days getting to know one another as both held secrets.

A number of hard core topics were discussed : homelessness, adoption, mental illness, drugs, the foster care and court system, and the lack of police training and initiatives.

All this proves to be a huge task and left me with more wonder than closure...

However I do hope you enjoy it as it was a great new read from the wonderfully talented Hollie Overton!
