While the book notes it's fiction it seemed more like an autobiography written with the main character having first and last name of the author.
Weird, twisted, sad, heartbreaking, violent --all come to mind.
I'm not sure what was being referenced when Emily Gould noted,"Juliet Escoria's voice is unmistakable: riveting, harrowing, and funny." As I found nothing about mental illness funny but rather a cry for help and a voice being silenced.
Even the author's pic on the back of the book seemed dark, withdrawn, and sad.
I can only say that Juliet was quite the character who soon found herself immersed in a world of darkness, drugs, and suicidal self harming tendencies.
The ultimate guide is her inner strength to survive but will that strength be a beacon of light for hope and change?
I hope through this writing this books illustrates the need to seek a helping hand if you feel like your falling into this overwhelming darkness. Please know those who are suffering are never alone nor to blame. Help is available.
