Book Review: "The Essence of Evil" By Rob Sinclair

The first novel in the DI Dani Stephens carries with it a mind blowing sense of evil from Dani's own twin.

Ben had tried to kill Dani leaving her with a (TBI) traumatic brain injury after he murdered his first wife Alice in which her body was never located.

Now Dani is back to work and has a new murder to investigate of a young lady stabbed in a garden possibly kept prisoner after trying to escape. Especially after another young woman went missing in same area.
Who better to get advise about what the killer might do next in this Modus Operandi case than her own twin brother who attacked her.

So she visits Ben in prison and uncovers that a professional criminologist by the name of Stephen Grant might also have some information after he was kidnapped by a serial killer.

Dani believed this was the work of a serial killer it only fueled her fire to investigate and see if similarities existed.

I won't go into too many details but suffice to say it ended with a warehouse seen that didn't tickle my fancy and so that's why the lower rating.

Had the ending been stronger this would've been a great 4 star read.

Thank you to Rob, the publisher, NetGalley as this will surely be a must read thriller.
