Book Review: "The Secret Wife of Aaron Burr" By Susan Holloway Scott

Aaron Burr may go down in history as a man who defied many odds; held power almost achieving the presidency and yet very little is known about his other side.

The side in which he felt entitled to ownership but not of land as this is the story of Mary his slave whom he fell hard for in love.

The mistress Theodosia is also in the picture and together it's quite the crowd at a time of great sadness and sorrow in war.

In essence he was the master and she the slave yet they forged a bond that wasn't so much about power but rather love to varying degrees.

For those who are sensitive just a footnote that their was talk of abuse of varying forms and the mistreatment of slaves is equally disturbing to endure
