Book Review: "Quiet Screams to the Quiet Healer" By Nilanjana Halder

I'm so honored to have been invited by the author via Goodreads to read an advanced reader copy of, "Quiet Screams to the Quiet Healer" as it was a true pleasure to read.

As a victim of domestic violence having spent a childhood asking why me and growing into adulthood feeling lost and unloved I can certainly relate to this new work.

My heart goes out to all victims of abuse as it's not just physical and society needs to understand that many are forced into silence by way of threats, retribution, fear of the unknown.

This book is a glimpse into that life and the culture that allows it to foster unchecked!

What can a child do having been forced to witness the growing violence between parents, friends, family?

Many of us have taken our experiences to words in the form of blogging, writing, journaling while ultimately finding our voices in helping to heal those of like minds.
I applaud Nilanjana for having the courage to branch out and showcase her work in her debut e book.

It was such a journey as a reader because it highlights the silence of abuse. The societal acceptance of forced marriages through beatings. The blue light signifying freedom, liberation, rebellion from the cocoon, and most importantly choice for salvation.

One of my fav quotes "Death is not the greatest loss in life. The real death is what dies inside of us while we are still alive."

Here we have two friends who grow as healers and survivors in a world that's become a hard and dangerous place to live.

The good news is we don't have to live one day in fear, isolation, withdrawal, &depression.
Help is available and must be noted that together we are united on this front.
The book also discusses personality trait disorders such as DID (Disassociate Identity Disorder) which is becoming more well known today.

As the book cover illustrates so eloquently, "The pain you are holding unto is not yours to bear."

The main character Sanjana is so beautifully illustrated and so thoughtful in her quest to understand empathize and fulfill her passions. She has faced abuse from many different angles and bears witness to the suffering from all angles writing about it to Franny her diary in expressing her most intimate thoughts.

The transformation from the cage, to the cocoon, to the butterfly, to the flight is often what we as survivors have welcomed.

This book illustrates that with compassion, empathy, soul, and most importantly love in healing, recovery, and redemption.

As someone who councils others on my facebook page The Lost Self Life After Narcissism I have expressed to others like Nilanjana the importance to tell your story and speak out against abuse of any form.

Nilanjana had me so engulfed in her writing that I couldn't flip the pages fast enough for my own liking. It truly kept me fully involved and as a voracious reader of all genres that's quite the treat.

In closing from my own personal experiences: It's through our healing that we are found and are able to transform to become healers for others.

We must know we are never alone nor to blame.

The guilt, the blame, the abuse is not ours to own.

I've always noted that those of us with children also know that they feel the emotions even if they do not witness such horrible acts. They hear the fear, the terror, they see the violence but in a different light. Please don't stay for the sake of the kids if you find yourself in similar circumstances because violence can escalate and sadly many lose their voices permanently in the process. Where there is a will there's a way! Remember and Follow your calling!

The author notes that while the characters are fictional the actions are real.
Marriage should always be about love and nothing more.

You are a seed that grows not a tree firmly rooted and can change your direction in life at anytime of your choosing.

Always seek that blue light as the blue flames is a prophecy of a higher calling in life.

Sending my love to all warriors, thrivers, survivors!
