Book Review: "Life and Other Inconveniences" By Kristan Higgins

Engaging! Insightful!

Full of character, humility, tenacity, and grace!

Four generations of women come together in this remarkable new work by Kristan Higgins exploring family relationships, hardships, and loss.

Genevieve, April, Emma, and Riley all embark on a journey but in unique and very different ways. Each with a story to tell and each with lives not yet fulfilled.

The blue blooded New England stock grandmother and her black sheep granddaughter discover they are more alike than different.

The saddest is that Sheppard is missing and presumed dead and Genevieve never recovered from this loss of her son and premature death of her spouse.

When Emma's mother passed away from suicide and her father abandoned her she was welcomed in by Genevieve.
Until Emma became pregnant and had to rebuild her life from the ground up with Riley.

So when Genevieve finally went out of her comfort zone to ask Emma for help while suffering from medical issues and eventually succumbing to a stroke; is the true heart of the story.

This will have you laughing, crying, consoling, and rejoicing as everything seems to work out in the end.

The truth will be told. The lives forever altered but in tact.

The will of the human spirit to survive and thrive will be on full display. Nearly every character has had some hardships, loss, and terror inflicted upon them. Yet through the graces of light shed upon them they are able to heal old wounds.
