Book Review: "Chosen Ones" By Veronica Roth

“Nature is bloody, and as a whole, it favors strength over compassion.”

Five teens have defeated the Dark One and are now on a journey to once again end the madness and save the world.

It's ten years later and one of them will be fated to be the 'Chosen One.'

I couldn't help but think of the similarities to current politics but also narcissistic personas with the mention of DT's buildings, but also with comments with the drain (for survivors: it's the black hole/smoke/fog/mirroring/projection) the Chosen One which we I personally called as a survivor 'The One' when discussing narcissism or the egotistical who feels far superior w grandiose ego to match, and the Dark One which we all know most actions occur outside the normal realm and in complete isolation and darkness often using manipulation and forceful tactics plus brainwashing.

Yes, reality is stranger than fiction and yes many of us feel like we are living in deja vu with history repeating but not sure if author intentionally wanted it to go there or just how it came to me from living in this La-La Land.

So many followers but not many leaders that aren't dictating or authoritative in nature.

Murderers chanting "Make Things Right" 'Bring him Back.'

Teen girls falling into the sky with devices that detect magic.

If you're squeamish there's needles that are embedded into the skin.

Drains as mentioned earlier that rip people apart without fully knowing the end result revealing fragility but also the soft spots of destruction. Drains that are by product of the connected universe.

Several references which also made me question political tones: The Walking Dead, Zombies, or the fact that The Dark One raised an army from the dead.
So, question for you all: How could you trust reality when reality is so easily manipulated and compromised? It's very difficult when gaslighting is a common household term.

It's exhausting much like the hamster wheel we call it in dealing with narcissistic personality trait disorders.

But the most useful reference: "The Chosen One came forth. Golden hair glinting in the sun." Ok, truly you got me...

Or this one: "How many chosen ones did you rip from their dimensions to fight your goddamned Dark One?"

We can note safely: A person's universe is their home.

Nero unlike Narcissus (dealing with malignant narcissist) said there may be more Chosen Ones...

By the way if you wonder who are these Chosen Ones: They are simply those who have defeated some kind of evil figure in their own world.

Brings to mind another political issue: What's more important than raw power?
You can also go there when you say she devoured him because he took from her.

Yes, strong is good but wouldn't you rather,"Kill 'em with kindness?"
It's a small price to pay ....

I don't know what more to say other than read this amazing work!!
