Book Review: "A Tangled Web" By Leslie Rule

For those who've not lived this life with someone suffering from a personality trait disorder such as psychopath or in my case malignant narcissism it's manipulative, destructive, and powerful.

The warning signs are always present but some who are in a constant state of fog/smoke/mirrors/projection/gaslighting/brain washing start to side with their own abuser similar to Stockholm Syndrome in which they gain empathy for them.

So, it's not a surprise that here we have a woman named Liz who simply can't let go of Dave nor any new relationship he forms with another woman.

When Cari enters his life she of course takes out the wrath and rage against her and she eventually goes missing.

Weird, bizarre, off the wall not the norm texts begin to appear and everyone wonders why because it's not the way Cari conducts herself.

Then the cyberstalking starts along with the bullying, threats, intimidation, and obviously fear sets in within the lives of both sides of these two families.
Nobody is excluded from being harassed daily.

The ideal game for these toxic individuals is power, control, isolation, and rule by force.

Liz was one heck of a woman who needed help in more ways than one.

Counseling and therapy is available for anyone who needs it and as a survivor who now councils others on abuse I hope they seek out professional help.

One other note: Leslie's mother Ann Rule was a Crime writers of her time and apparently that bug fell upon her daughter.

Leslie has performed rather well all on her own and I give her much credit because the fight or flight response is real.

That inability to see the truths from the 'false sense' of self being portrayed is awful.

Many blame themselves years later when they do 'get it' and understand just how dangerous these individuals can become.

Many when they speak out against abuse are seen as 'crazy' but reality is they are speaking the truths and in many cases the truth is stranger than fiction.
Never be silenced by this toxicity. Reach out and tell your story. You never know who you can help.

Thank you to Leslie, the pub, NetGalley, and Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
