Book Review: "Keep Sharp" By Sanjay Gupta

What's the best way to keep the mind focused, sharp, alert and on track?

Sanjay Gupta gives us the tools to process the information and be successful with central focus upon food intake, drugs, supplements, vitamins, exercise, and more.

Did you know the brain is made up of seventy three percent water?

Ergo, why it's important to drink those 8oz of water per day to prevent dehydration.

Did you know dementia is related to the fat around the midsection?

It's questions such as these that truly get to the heart of the matter in a precise, direct, and no-nonsense way.

Now, of course if you have pre-existing illness: diabetes, alzheimers, Lyme disease, inflammation, genetics, blood disorders they will all play important roles into how you will be able to conquer the mind.

Have you heard that doing crossword puzzles will save your mind from decline? That too is tackled here.

What I enjoyed is the fact that it's not just a tell all and go but rather a clear cut mode to address so many important questions-questions that can and will save your life.

While crosswords do help in word finding and fluency they may not keep the brain sharp but will reduce the decline in thinking skills so go ahead and crack that puzzle open.

So, what is the number one and best way to help brain function?

EXERCISE! No magic pill!

"Profound sitting more than 8 hrs a day with zero physical activity can kill you or lead to an early death."

So, keep moving and stay alert!

Thank you to Sanjay, the pub, NetGalley, and Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
