Book Review: "The Beautiful Ones" By Dan Piepenbring

Prince has that air of mystery and intrigue that has been carefully cultivated since he was blessed to be in all of our lives.

He was a man struggling with his own inner demons in a variety of ways but his upbringing, his psyche being diagnosed as mentally disturbed, and his wild adventures all may have been simply too much to conquer alone.
He was the ultimate sensual man who followed his dreams and captured the souls of many who dare not go where he dreamed of going.

He opened many doors, created new avenues, and forged his own path.

Which is the entire point of this book - from his early childhood days, to the fame, and ultimately the shame in his death via drugs.

"Mystery is a word for a reason. It has purpose." The right book could add new layers to his mystery."

Truth be told he was thinking on writing a memoir prior to his death and sadly it never came to fruition as he may have hoped but it did finally arrive.

"Music is healing" Music holds things together."

But why now?

He wanted his voice heard. He wanted to tell a story that was not yet told. He wanted it his way as we've seen woven throughout this book in illustrations and in carefully chosen words.

He wanted to seize his own narrative piece in attempting to combat the notion that he was an 'egotistical maniac.'

Prince was 'an artist in a constant state of becoming..' that he was indeed!

He wanted to let others know to keep it real, stay true to self, and create your life.

The word 'CREATE' was his heart and soul that lives on in those who shared in his joy, his creativity, his visions.

May he rest in peace.
