It's no surprise why I enjoy Nora Roberts work and this one is no exception to that appreciation.
Here we have a lesson in life and death that staggers the underground and vamps up the mystery and intrigue in real life.
Folks, you know the pun, you get what you deserve but life can be cruel.
Living a life of hard knocks has taught me to appreciate every little blessing and perhaps that's part of the intrigue here as the gangs are everywhere and the drugs are plentiful.
What can be said is that Eve is a homicide cop doing her best to rid the troubled lives of these kids by building a youth shelter with her spouse Roarke.
She brings in additional help in the form of a psychologist named Dr. Rochelle and her brother Lyle then comes to stay with her.
Well, of course, nothing is black and white but full of gray areas and when Lyle turns up dead after his sis was out for the evening things begin to not only heat up but explode.
The tension ratchets up and the burning desire to uncover the truth while holding those accountable is evident.
So, the only thing left to ask now is," Do you believe in second, third, and fourth chances?"
If yes, you best get cracking as this is a true thriller you don't want to miss!!
If you find the pink haired girl whose on the run- Let me know :)
