Book Review: "Natalie Tan's Book of Luck and Fortune" By Roselle Lim

What can possibly go wrong when food is the gateway to the soul?

How can you mourn the loss of those you love and do so with dignity and respect?

When you celebrate a loss of life can you do so in a way that not only bears strength but also comforts the soul in the form of 'silent support?'

This is one of those feel good scenarios in which Natalie must go out on her own and make her way through her chosen career as a chef -something her mother refused to support.

She has inherited her grandmothers restaurant and with it came the dilemma to help others who never offered a hand up when her family needed it most.

The need to prove herself seems apparent -like the itch to succeed- yet she does it her way through all the highs and lows.

After all what's love without loss? What's success without hardships?

Ultimately, what holds value when you have nothing?

What's fortune without a wee bit of luck?

You will fall in love with the notion of cooking these delicious dishes and having a friendship that will rock you to the core.

What a beautiful read that I highly recommend especially at this time of the year with the holidays and families coming together for some but not all.

A pure joy!
