Book Review: "Pelosi" By Molly Ball

Underappreciated. Overrated. Ignored. Demanding. Powerful.

I would suppose if you had to pick a few words to describe Pelosi it would be those above, yet she truly doesn't care as she stays in her own lane and gets the job done.

She's there for one thing, and unlike our President, she doesn't want nor need the constant spotlight for attention, the pats on the back, or heck the acknowledgement of a job well done.

If she's in a round table discussion she expects and demands to be heard and sadly in a roomful of white egotistical men that's what a woman must do and if it requires waving her hands, stomping her feet, asking nicely, or maneuvering through the nonsense by applauding for the temper tantrums displayed in public she will without hesitation do it all.

Upon reading this new work by Molly Ball I couldn't help but be taken back by this question.

"Who told her she could run?"

The feminine heroine may have been absent but has been found!

Fear not-Men need not be afraid as women equality is on the rise!

Breaking the glass was ol school, we're here for transformation, for inclusion, for equality, for respect and a seat at the table.

If you feel silence is the only way to dissolve the energy being displayed then I feel for you.

It's long been known dealing with narcissism especially that which is shown today requires a strong sound mind, body, and soul. It's quite frankly-Exhausting as the hamster wheel spins daily and the lies are constant.

That false sense of self that so many operate from today is disgusting, despicable, and rude but it's a flock of men that will have to come around to 'this line of thinking' as it was instructed to me when I had a collection basket ripped out of my hands in a Catholic church because of being the only female minister of hospitality (usher).

So, these are not ordinary but extraordinary times that require more than the usual jump in the ring, it's all in, and full steam ahead with a supportive group of women to hold up the foundation.

Women have joined politics in large numbers and perhaps it has something to do with Clinton's drastic and hurtful loss but it also has to do with wanting a say in women's bodies, women's right, women's politics.

Boehner and Ryan couldn't do what Pelosi has achieved and get anything passed. She has because she doesn't bring it unless she knows it can pass.
Or as they say- "It's not Trump's Washington-It's hers!"

This was a powerful reflection of her upbringing from grassroots volunteering, campaigning, and finance to the big leagues in Congress, Senate, as Speaker of the House.

It's not easy to appease all sides and yes sadly she's dealing with immaturity on all fronts yet to keep her cool and get it done should gain high respects on all sides of the aisle.

In closing, How did a 79-year-old Italian grandmother in four-inch heels become the greatest legislator since LBJ—and how will she manage her greatest challenge yet, impeachment?

Well, I think it speaks for itself -Don't you?!

A great new read that I highly recommend.

Thank you to Molly, the pub, NetGalley, and Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
