Romilly was a multi-dimensional character that offered a real value to this plot along with her father and author who is suffering from dementia.
They seem to live ordinary lives but with a twist-a hidden secret-that eventually is revealed.
Originally the book was supposed to be called The Illustrated Child from what I've since learned but was changed and for me it still fits with the writings.
As a reviewer and blogger I must note this book contains some strong processing of mental illness, death, suicide, dementia, and more so please read with this in mind for those who are sensitive.
While the darkness became elusive and powerful it was also with the light in realizing that help is available and to reach out for those who may be suffering so it does find its way well with readers.
It's not meant for everyone but it was an excellent piece and for a debut it was fantastic.
Thank you to Polly, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
