Building the wall to one's heart may keep out the pain of rejection but also the love of acceptance!
Poor Maya-she's a woman that's torn between caretaking for her family and loving her boyfriend whom she rejected his proposal of marriage.
Cameron and Maya both seem to suffer from this "work hard play hard" scenario that they can't escape.
Both are enamored in their work, their careers, their families yet when is their time together?
Will Cameron find her heart not as a girl but as a woman once she ventures back to the area?
This will literally and figuratively bring you to your knees because it's exhilirating and inviting but also shocking with suspense sprinkled throughout the novel.
So in the end I'm left with this: "Yet there I was, dancing with the devil who'd broken me beyond repair."
Sure as rain Maya and her mother have an underlying story to tell and it's powerful but heartbreaking at the same time.
When her story breaks literally it throws a wrench into everything that follows but it also opens up a new avenue to explore.
Thank you to Meredith, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
