Book Review: "The Second Mother" By Jenny Milchman

The Second Mother had a promising start with a beautiful coastal setting and a lovely idea of Julie seeking a fresh start after motherhood and divorcing.

Sounds interesting enough until we have Ellie enter the picture with Donald and all hell literally breaks loose.

Of course, Julie isn't squeaky clean so husband David seeks out via divorce but not until after a series of events that readers learn about involving their little girl.

Repetition, meandering ways, and not enough drama striked this one down to a three star for me as it lost it's vigor midway.

It did pick up with the daughter but the underlying issues and Julie's relationships with the students just didn't fulfill as one shall hope.

Special thanks and shout out to Netgalley, the pub, the author for this unique read that did entertain.
