"Powerful women aren't given much leeway. Express a little emotion-any emotion-and you risk being written off as unserious.

Show too little and you're a bitch.

The stereotypes are convenient for journalists and can be supported by selecting a few anecdotes or impressions and shading them just so."

Where did this desire to destroy and demonize the Clintons come from?

"...Both Republican  ire over the loss of the White House, which the party had become accustomed to holding, and the destructive hyper-partisanship of politicians like Representative Newt Gingrich."

Having divorced a malignant narcissist -they use what's known as scapegoating- and threats of intimidation evolving with manipulation-mirroring-projection-and more.

"The dynamic that turns people into caricatures for others to hate can also burden the minds of those who are scapegoated. As negative judgments pile up, defensiveness turns to fearfulness, and the victim can find herself filled with self-doubt and struggling to respond to the world in a natural way."

"Politicians who endure a reputational attack can be brought low in the eyes of their constituents and lose the confidence they need to campaign."

In other words these individuals feared tenacity, feared courage, feared determination by a woman with more qualification than her counterparts.

Smearing her name, image, and reputation was the highlight of these low level individuals because they had no bottom ground. Benghazi, emails, campaign funds, affairs of her spouse, it was all fair game and on the table ripe for picking.

Mind you-Clinton Cash- was one such adventure that went full steam ahead without much credibility even though the book was an embarrassment it was full of much needed arguments to use against Hillary.

Social media used bots, trolls, and the like to counterpunch those who dare go against the Kool-Aid being sold by the Trump supporters.

"During the 2016 election, one tech firm that tracked such things estimated that only 21 percent of his Twitter followers were real."

What was the point of all this deception?

Besides the obvious-need to win via cheating-the followers could be used to stake his claim with popularity.

In my opinion it also served another purpose to wear her down, to gaslight, to make her feel she lost her voice, and to make her go into hiding afraid of retaliation or worse loss of a very important election.

Many false accusations and alleged wrongdoings soon propped up against the Clintons in all forms in the end to create a smoke screen and advert away from reality and truths.

"Combined, the pro-Trump bot army outnumbered Clinton's by five to one."
It's a rule by force method that's used everywhere today-an us v them- scenario and as I was told when I was the only female usher forced out of church after three grown men ripped a collection basket out of my hand in the back of the Catholic Church I volunteered as an usher for during the previous 2 years-it's a story of there's more of us then them and so they get away with it without much punishment or even notice.

It's said that in today's day and age the only way the men can maintain control is through the use of such bigotry, racism, hatred, and force.
When will the world go back to normal?

Good question, but as long as white nationalism is in play it may never end...these men seem to be on a violent mission of power and control through all means necessary and it's shocking when it happens directly to you much less the President Elect who won the votes but lost the war.

Thank you to Michael D'Antonio, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
