Book Review: "The Bride Test" By Helen Hoang

Searching for love in all the wrong places but what if love was so elusive that it needed to be pre-arranged?

Khai Diep is the main character -an autistic man- a man longing for acceptance and love.

So why not have his mother travel to Vietnam for a  pre-arranged romance in the making with the new gal in town?

Esme seems nice, wears her heart on her sleeve, but she's of mixed race.

As a feminst I had some issues with this set up between these two as they seemed to spend more time in the bed then they did in trying to build a relationship so it's a no wonder it didn't work out initially and of course there's the entire mistreatment throughout the relationship that didn't settle well with me.

With this said, I cannot fault a writer's idea only writing style and this was superb and a classic Helen Hoang masterpiece.

The ending was magnificent and was a welcome change from the earlier tug of war between the parties involved.

The bride test may have pushed some buttons but one thing for sure it opened up discussion about racial tensions and pre arranged marriages.
