Book Review: "Cold Waters" By Debbie Herbert

The company we keep is as important as our mental state and Cold Waters is proof of this concept!

"Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self esteem, first make sure, that you are not in fact surrounded by A-holes." Sigmund Freud

Toxicity in the family, overstepping personal boundaries, crossing the line of the 'norm' is what this book capitalizes upon with a young lady accused of murder and a cover up worthy of an Oscar.

It all happened when Violet was 14 in Alabama while skinny dipping when Ainsley her best friend fell off a cliff.

For the legal beagles this means without a body charges were not forwarded.

What was provided was inheritance after Violet was released from the psych ward which may have been the safest place for her.

It's a real problem when those around you are highly toxic and disturbed but try to create this fog that appears to take you down resulting in questioning of your own sanity.
After all she spent a decade getting treatment so it's hard to know right from wrong and truly know what she deserves.

The empathy for Violet was not present and in fact she was more the scapegoat in this narcissistic trait disordered family.

Meanwhile affairs, paternity, sexuality, and plotting one's demise all come to the forefront in this amazing new thriller by Debbie Herbert.

Thank you to Debbie, the publisher, Netgalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
