Book Review: "The Night Visitors" By Carol Goodman

They say telling your story about domestic violence is a great first start especially during the healing process but what happens if everyone is hiding secrets and nobody is quite honest?

This is the dilemma for two main characters Alice and Mattie who ultimately rely upon one another to get through their current hardships.

Alice is fleeing an abusive relationships and makes the call for help. She meets Mattie at the bus station and together they set off not to the women's safe house but to her own home which is against protocol.

The impending doom looms large with a crippling snowstorm on its way, hidden secrets all around, and a cast of characters that are shady and creepy at best.

As the readers hope for action, suspense, mystery what they receive is plenty of twists and turns that truly don't help the story reach climax.

The truth is the twist aren't explained as they occur leading readers to guess till the end when it's finally noted again by the author.

However, Oren Alice's ten year old son has his own sense of things while Alice fears her son will ultimately be taken away for good.

Surely these characters have their own issues to process including Mattie who explained her lil brothers sudden death was due to carbon monoxide poisoning or was it?

Well the supernatural elements surely didn't help us so you're truly all on your own here...
Good luck!
