What determines the propensity to kill? Could it be the nature v nurture theory?
Could there be an insanity clause utilized?
Is there clear cut signals, warning signs, patterns (ie. M.O. - Modus Operandi) to illustrate more clearly the violent progression from childhood to adulthood?
Yes, there is and predators, serial killers, and toxic individuals with a need for power and control know all too well that it exists!
These individuals whether you speak of BTK Dennis Rader, Son of Sam David Berkowitz, Charles Manson, Susan Smith, Andrea Yates, or others mentioned here all had a choice a choice to kill or not.
They choose the wrong response but why?
Many predators exhibit not only character defects but personality trait disorders coupled with some form of mental illness but that's not to say they are 'Insane' by definition. They know right from wrong!
The need to possess a superiority complex, the possession of a grandiose ego, the inadequacy and dysfunction in their childhood may be part of the issue at hand.
Animal abuse, signs of aggression, above the law behaviors should be the first clues to notice from the outside peering in.
However, it's often noted it's the thrill of the chase, the hunt, the capture, the take away that keeps these sick individuals in their game of cat and mouse.
Often after mass shootings someone will always ask why were the warning signs ignored? Was there even any warning signs? Did you notice anything unusual about his/her behavior prior to committing such atrocities?
The answer is often NO yet there were signs especially with the BTK killings as he tried to lead a normal married life while raising his daughter in between his cold blooded murders.
There is often a 'cooling off' period but make no mistake the killings always continue. The time off is usually to regain their wits, plan out strategies, alter current courses of events.
Many of these killers had abnormally 'fixated' upon their mothers usually negatively.
The dark side was entered into without return which may or may not include witch hunts, witch craft, pornographic material, drugs, sexual abuse, etc.
These killers ironically can't take what they dish out to others not even for a second and that's something that always captivated me.
Having married and happily divorced a malignant narcissist who threatens my life and that of my children daily I can say they are relentless, destructive, lost souls.
They lack empathy, emotion, feeling and have no love for anyone but self.
It's all about the one in the relationship without reciprocation, communication, acceptance, or room to grow.
To seek and destroy like a rocket missile anyone who goes against the grain, anyone who questions there activities, anyone who doesn't go along to get along is common.
It's a dictatorship, an authoritarian means, a way to maintain civility by following this 'god like' creature who feels far superior to any other human.
They are truly self destructive if given enough room and that's my hope in the end after fighting for the past 9 years as these toxic personas are exhausting to endure daily.
Constant threats , intimidation, false accusations, manipulation, brain washing all because they seen a crack in the surface of the victim.
It's noted these perpetrators seek those who were damaged, easily accessible, the young &vulnerable, nieve, with low or no self esteem, worth, or value attached.
It's not uncommon to note they do not play well with others going from job to job, isolated, loners if you will, with very little social norms.
Yet they will seek career positions that give them the most benefit to fulfill their ultimate selfish needs, appetite, and growing desires.
I hope everyone reads this carefully and knows that these individuals appear 'normal' to the outside world albeit 'a lil off' base.
They may have been outstanding members of society such as Ted Bundy who actually took the stand in his own defense as his own lawyer but it doesn't mean he had legal experience.
They are conmen able to sell themselves, appear credible, believable, and capture unsuspecting victims attention.
Criminal profiling is one of the most effective tools we have to utilize to stay on top of the ever changing patterns of lies, deceit, trickery, and manipulative ways.
One last note: I often wonder why victims must wait to be killed before anything is ever done? Why can't we become proactive using community policing efforts rather than reactive.
For victims it's a 'sitting duck' issue in which many of us including myself must wait to be killed before obtaining relief, support, protection! Why? Please do answer me this, as even with disturbing evidence our voices are being silenced behind the walls of the courtroom. In many cases we are denied to even bring forth our case such as my 15 exceptions filed against my abuser for his incessant lies.
In my own personal case my active pfa was violated resulting in ICC arrest coupled with 3m probation, alcohol and drug treatment, and anger mgmt courses.
I continue to fight this narcissistic man to the end after hiring 4 attorneys, bankruptcy, homelessness, and beyond with an inability to secure employment because of it all.
People don't realize how destructive it is including good luck securing an apartment with kids let alone an active protection from abuse order or in lacking credit from having to flee abusive relationships.
It's a trickle down effect one in which if you're co parenting you are not only 'locked in' but unable to 'escape'.
Even after my own malignant narc arrested for icc violation, 911 police reports filed on abuse to wife and kids, even after warrants issued failure to pay/appear court, even with 15k child support arrears after living a year without income and yes even with all this the Pennsylvania family courts allow visitation?
It is dangerous to women and children who must try to 'play nice' for the sake of the courts knowing at any time he can 'explode'.
I sadly must stay put with regards to court ordered visitation and endure further abuse in all forms.
I hope someday we take a greater look at the detriment and harm this places upon families who need protection from abuse.
Abuse keep in mind is not solely physical and our courts are inundated with high case loads, lack of funding, and lack of proper training to identify narcissistic/sociopathic/psychopathic individuals and this must change before we all get killed playing the 'waiting game' with a 'killer across the table.'
