Book Review: "Before She Disappeared" By Lisa Gardner

Congrats to Lisa Gardner on her first stand alone novel in twenty years!

Before She Disappeared was a novel that laid everything out on the line with gusto and nothing was left unsaid for thriller readers.

This book pulls the heartstrings while finding the missing, lost, exploited children.
What you must do first is read the acknowledgements because it's filled with information about how this book came to be and the heroes behind the scenes that do this work daily without recognition or praise.

Now, on to the show-with our heroine-Frankie. She's tenacious, fearless, determined, and full of vigor. She refuses to back down from a challenge and is determined to find the missing girls.

Yet, she can't help to wonder what's going on with the the fake items being located and what connection they have to the girls.

Bringing us into these Haitian communities and uncovering the underbelly of the drug trade along with the counterfeits is what's behind this powerful story.

However, can she uncover the truths before it's too late? In doing so, will she herself become the main target of whoever is behind this madness. Will she be known simply as ,"Enemy Number One?"

There's so much sizzle to this frying pan that I'm not sure how you could put a bigger steak in there?

Truly, this one was H-O-T!

The emotional appeal, the heartfelt compassion, the exuberance and concern on the hearts and minds of the loved ones was apparent and flipped off each page.

My only regret is that I didn't get to read this gem sooner as my request went denied on NetGalley resulting in a second request only to have my wish still pending.

Thankfully, this beauty became available at my local library.

Therefore, my closing statement: Support your local libraries as they truly are gems in our community. Thank you Osterhout Free Library for this print copy in exchange for this honest review.
