Book Review: "Where The Truth Lies" By Anna Bailey

First and foremost I must say, "Thank you" to Atria Books for this Granted Wish via NetGalley as it was on my radar from day one.

As a debut this was spectacular and the author Anna Bailey should be quite thrilled with the outcome.

Where The Truth Lies was originally titled," Tall Bones" and centers upon small town politics and problems.

Whether it's homophobia, religious persecutions and or hypocrisy of the church in Whistling Ridge- a town in which Abigail walked to the woods to meet someone resulted in her going missing.

Her bestie Emma will never forgive herself for not giving her a ride and leaving her behind to meet up with someone she couldn't distinguish from the darkness.

There's a whole host of characters to draw your inspiration forward beginning with trailer park -Rat to Noah the diner worker to Pastor Lewis who just rubs me the wrong with with his holiness demeanor yet wreaks havoc the minute he opens his mouth.

The mannerisms and characters are part of the journey and at times we're so focused on them we lose sight of the overall theme going on with finding Abigail but in the end we make a 180 turn around and head back.

All in all it's a great read that I'm sure will have many people talking long after the last page is turned.
