Book Review: "The Russian" By James Patterson

Good but not Great!

James Patterson is a writer that lately seems to be more concerned with appearance and labels rather than content and enticement.

I've noted this before but I honestly don't care about the sales records, the world records, or the stats if you leave your readers pondering and wanting more.

James over the years has been hit or miss with me and I suppose that's normal with all authors and fans but this one just felt dead in the water (no pun intended.)
A serial killer is running around leaving victims mutilated, desecrated, and destroyed in chilling fashion with no motive much less insight.

White collar crimes have always fascinated readers so perhaps this new work will entice with Michael Bennett's signature mark as this is lucky number thirteen in the series.
However, this audio left much to be desired with the NYC crimes and the lengthy back and forth that we found concerning Michael's longtime love Mary Catherine.

After all Bennett is a busy man-10 kids, a grandfather, a fiancee, and catching this madman going across country with a killer obsessed with eye eviscerations.

Why?

Well, glad you asked as the computer system update and a high tech man named Ott might give you those answers as he flees the cities ahead of the detective in search of new victims.

Will Ott ever be taken down?

Will Bennett get his man and his girl?

Stay tuned...
