Book Review: "Quiet in Her Bones" By Nalini Singh

If only the forests could talk, bring back to life the mysteries that they hide, amongst the bushes of the Waitakere Regional Park.

The body was practically preserved, many years later, in the original clothing. The bones were that of Nina- a trophy wife- and mother to at that time 16 yo. Aarav. She was sadly involved in an abusive relationship with Ishaan -Aarav's father.

Numerous years later the screams of his mother haunt his memory - that's what's left of his cognitive abilities- after a car accident and head injury along with psychiatric counseling. In fact, at one point he wonders if anyone would believe him since warrants were obtained for his medical records.

As of the current state, Aarav is now a writer and seeking to uncover the truth to why his mother went missing after snatching 250k from his father's safe. The father simply claims his wife was a thief.

The problem for me was in connecting to these characters, the story, the plot, the setting, and the overall theme.

I found it swaying to much and wondering around seemingly lost in the midst.
While, I wish I could've been more actively engaged the writing was excellent but the mystery, intrigue, captivating readers minds for me was lacking.

Thank you to Nalini Singh, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
