Book Review: "What Happened to the Bennetts" By Lisa Scottoline

Having read other works by Lisa Scottoline this one isn't at the top but it's not crossing the finish line last either.

What Happened to the Bennetts is like asking to pack your purse and tossing everything but the kitchen sink in there.
Your better question might be to ask what didn't happen and backtrack from that point!

Surely, it did seem there's two different pieces to this thriller but there's always been in every good thriller I read. The first half sets the tone, the second half picks up like a marathon, by the end of the third you're left exhausted from the run.

You know the man of the house is the protector yet feels he's losing the battle. His daughter was shot upon heading home from a soccer game. The family is now in lock down with the witness protection program and yet, their house burnt to the ground.

How the hell is all this possible?

It seems there's almost too much going on and yes, I'd have to agree a few tweaks and less fluff might be required but all in all this wasn't horrendous.

It did keep my attention but didn't wow my thermal socks off!

So, with that said it's up to you to add your two cents on this one.

I hope you feel somewhat similar to my commentary in this review.

Thank you to Osterhout Free Library for keeping me pegged with goodness.
