This was unique in it's execution and perfectly written in its attention serving ways!

The Widow was just such a book about a popular political couple in which the patriarch passes and the matriarch must now reach across the aisle on both sides to garnish the votes and capture the seat.
What goes on between the battle is the activities/events/voting habits/and the eloquent ways one should recall how to carry themselves and showcase their sense of character.
As a wife of the OBP in DC I can tell you this the District of Columbia I swear never sleeps. My ex spouse had an affair with a co-worker during the daily walks/runs by the Potomac and of course there's always those late night get together dinner meetings with the main draws like swearing in ceremonies and fancy balls.
It's truly like a huge prom in which these inaugurations seem to never end and the party just continues throughout the year by having to please your constituents yet those who helped you win the seats.
This book took me back to those days when I'd sit home sick as dog tending to kids as the dutiful housewife while he lived out a career that'd make anyone blush.
Dancing with the President and his cabinet members...I mean seriously...
I digress, this just hit that last nerve because I felt what the writer was showcasing. That jealousy, resentment, and yet, the continuation to put on that dutiful smile and pretend you're pleased with the outcomes.
I loved every last bit of this book and hope you do too.
