Book Review: "The Perfect Father" By Charlotte Duckworth

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I suppose you could say the same about personality quirks namely those involving the obsessive desire for perfection.

One of the deciding factors of a good book is the ability to sway readers opinions.
The Perfect Father does this while laying the foundation for more to come.

It begins with a married couple and a missing daughter Riley. The father Robin is a stay at home dad who had an incident that left him unconscious on life support.
Meanwhile, their 2 yr old daughter Riley is nowhere to be found.

The story progresses between multiple time frames and it's here that we find many of the shockers.

The two major twisters come about later in the story and as some reviewers noted make the story quite 'fitting' yet easy to uncover ahead of time.

Robin is no angel. He's made to appear as an evil 'cheater' whose had multiple checkered past relationships that faltered. The most recent involved a woman named Kim and prior a woman named Sarah.

Kim seems like everything Esther is not but Esther has her own issues to address. Those include past miscarriage and PTSD among other things such as feelings of inadequacy.
Riley meanwhile seems loved by many on various fronts yet she's also being treated like a pawn in this chess match and who gets to form that special bond is more like a hot potato.
The ending fit nice and snug but it was too predictable especially within the hospital environment and surrounding paternal concerns.

All in all it was a good -well written-invigorating thriller that kept me entertained.
