Book Review: "Piece of My Heart" By Mary Higgins

The "Queen of Suspense" has done it again and this time it's with her freshly written -Piece of My Heart which captured the essence of what ever thriller should embody.

First and foremost we have juicy characters that's easy to love and or hate depending on your emotional appeal and very relatable in every sense.

Johnny the young man whose gone missing is really the heart of the show stopper here as everything else including the characters revolve around his MIA status.

Laurie and her fiancee Alex are just about to tie the knot when their 7 yr old nephew disappears from the beach.

While that is a shocker in and of itself we bring in another misty eyed family to develop this side story about Timmy the 10 yr old son of Laurie who may have been the original target?
Since it's winter here in Northeastern Pennsylvania we no longer have the 'ice cream trucks' but this story reminds me just how dangerous they can become in our neighborhoods.

In addition this story reminds us to count our blessings and take one day at a time -to honestly not sweat the small stuff.

That air of mystery, suspense, and drama is heightened when we learn old "Blue Eyes" may be at the center of it all or he could merely be framed.

We also must take a look not only at the babysitter in this scenario but the parents because there's some questionable actions, terrible loss, and heavy hitters that are in the police force that may know more than they are showing. In fact, one family member is the Chief of Police for Rehobeth and that may be a key piece to this case.

Who the parents are gets murky and muddied leading to a full scale investigation to aliases and abuse in which some individual family members are in hiding and for good reason.
While one person admits some fault for some previous deaths it becomes an emotional ending with a wedding still to attend.

So many wanted a piece of this one person and they all shared in the developments as inner circles of this individual consequently altering the life in many forms.

An interesting read that kept me entertained and excited to flip those pages.
