Book Review: "The Housewarming" By S.E. Lynes

"It wasn't you. It was ..."

Well, now this wasn't expected or was it?

It all starts with lil Abi who has gone missing when a front door was left open.

Problem is nobody including the parents wants to own up to leaving it open in the first place.

Now, everyone is wondering what happened to their baby girl especially Ava and Matt the parents of the child.

The story proceeds to include a housewarming party held by the neighbors 'The Lovegoods' and goes off into the deep end with he said/she said scenarios in which almost everyone is suspect.

Johnnie and Jenn are the neighbors in question with two children -Jasmin and Cosima-the eldest has Angelman Syndrome-as a special needs individual.

Neil is Matt's childhood friend who felt a need to utter this statement, "It's not your fault, trust me. I know it wasn't."

Of course, he didn't think it fully through as this statement struck Ava to the core wondering if her husband was to blame.

It was so deeply troubling upon the marriage and all those involved.

Needless to say, the end result was an accumulation of actions and clues such as 'Mr. Sloth' a favorite toy of the child and later a coat nearby.

Oh, and did I mention this Johnnie Boy -character- in the story?

No, well he too plays a role in all this but you'll have to wait and see for yourself as my lips are sealed.

Thank you to S.E. Lynes and the pub along with Netgalley and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
