Book Review: "Lady in the Lake" By Laura Lippman

Attention to detail is Laura Lippman's way of literary thinking here in the Lady in the Lake.
This powerful thriller addresses a complicated time in history the early to late 60's when racism was at its peak and hostility and anger towards anyone of color was beyond comparison.

The setting was om 1964 as Cleo Sherwood was murdered 8 months earlier leaving behind two sons at a park lake.

Maddie who is separated from her Jewish husband Martin has a son Seth and has just been granted a new task with her journalist job.

The story was told in an interesting perspective having Maddie in 3rd person format with Cleo telling it to us in the first person.

Plenty of bits and pieces are left throughout like bird crumbs to be picked up and carried along till the powerful ending.

This ending was so superb it left be speechless literally and figuratively by the wonderful writings of Laura Lippman.

Totally unexpected and amazingly chillling!

Thank you to Laura, the publisher, Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
