Book Review: "Love your Enemies" By Arthur C. Brooks

We live in a 'culture of contempt' with angry politicians and congressional leaders doing more arguing than passing legislation.

However, we need to understand that deep pessimism draws a wedge to tear apart our nation.

Telling one's personal story is just one way to have your voice heard; another great idea is to re-frame your opinions.

Don't walk in armed to be right and not listen to differences of opinion. Walk in calmly and tell your story with genuine compassion and empathy for others.
There's a strong need for common societal objectives and when we come together nothing can tear us apart.

This everyday political bickering is not the new norm it's just a temporary roadblock to our future.

Everyone needs to become actively involved and say we won't allow this nonsense to continue in an objective, intellectual, non demanding sort of way.

Authoritative leadership is not the bad guy it's the dictatorship that's the problem.
We can be strong yet be connected and united on common grounds.
