Book Review: "All About Evie" By Cathy Lamb

This is so well crafted that's hard to do it justice in writing this review.

Cathy Lamb has done it again in superb literary fashion.

Evie is a perfect character to get the literary juices flowing in a way that entices readers interests in this not so perfect world.

Jules her sister is about to embark on a journey of love and wedded bliss until all holy hell breaks loose after a dna tests provides some shocking truths.

Truths that were to be kept hidden yet under the ugly is beauty that cannot be taken for granted.

The truth is the reasoning as to why someone chooses or not to share the truths of paternity and genetic testing is a matter for each individual. Often many 'assume' without having the hard core evidence that's often a matter for discussion not full disclosure.

What I suppose I can note here is that not everything is as it seems and there's an explanation that while it may not have been wanted or necessary at the time it was to be presented is now being requested for full exposure.

Therefore it is with great diligence and patience that one has to accept the results at full face value including all the hardships, the pain, the past errors, as family may not always be blood relatives.

There's a disturbing domestic violence issue coupled with mental illness that's discussed here that I won't go into detail but suffice to say that plays a role into releasing the secret parental and biological information that was uncovered.

Safe to say the person you might think is your parent may not actually be factual and sadly adoption may have been not the only way but the safest way to proceed with the matter at hand.

Betsy the biological mom of Evie shares a genetic component that is unmistakable and has been passed on to her.

That is a connection that will forever bind them together as one.

The ending with Marco was a tear jerker and the fact that Evie now has extended members of her family is a ray of sunshine even if only but a 'premonition.'

Thank you to Cathy, Kensington books (Auto Approval) and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
