Book Review: "This Tender Land" By William Kent Krueger

“Open yourself to every possibility, for there is nothing your heart can imagine that is not so.”

“Of all that we're asked to give others in this life, the most difficult to offer may be forgiveness.”

This is a powerful story full of hope, love, and the power of forgiveness.

It's set during The Great Depression at a time of great turmoil and hardships for this young group of four orphans in Minnesota.

Lincoln School was a school for Native American children. Children with great potential. Odie and Albert are brothers who possess more differences than similarities and it urks the older brother Albert whose never in trouble.

Moses meanwhile is mute and uses sign language as his only means of communication.

Emmy is being cared for by the abusive school owners whose cruelty seems to never end.

The story is wrapped up in the journey. A journey for survival. A journey for change. A journey full of hope for a brighter future.
Will they escape the terrible wrath or will they be subjected to far worse than they could've ever imagined?

Only time will tell as this story takes on a world of its own.

It's a glowing rendition of the heart, mind, body, and soul coming together for one lasting memorable journey in time.
