Book Review: "All The Forgivenesses" By Elizabeth Hardinger

Set in perfect format this book is an all encompassing family situation in which past flaws lead to heightened awareness and purified connections.

Elizabeth does such a magnificent job describing the setting, the time period, the language and characters beautifully.

We are enamored by our main character and drawn into her imperfections. Beginning as a child when her brother Timmy passed when she was just six years old to later on in life when she must take over for her parents who are ill equipped to raise their family.

Bertie's shame and guilt from not being able to save Timmy has progressed to her current situation in which her mother seems beyond saving with depression from work exhaustion and her father whose a stumbling drunk.

All roads lead to an 'angel in disguise' when she meets Sam and they wed when she was sixteen years of age.

After marrying her sister Dacia stumbles on hard times and her three kids are then sent to Bertie to care for in her company with Sam.

Bertie becomes empty and withdrawn after the miscarriages in her own wedding so to have three children who are neglected and broken but are transformed into angelic human beings is a true blessing for her.

The couple may have taken on more than they may have wanted but to see the transformation magically through these pages was well worth it.

A fab read!
