Where to even begin..
While Carrie's character was black it was written by someone who clearly didn't have similar hardships and that put a damper on the overall engagement.
In addition, a baby never should be used to force change in any relationship and certainly not as a last resort to hold a person in place in order to gain their undivided attention.
Friendships come and it's no different in romantic relationships (unless you're one of the lucky ones) and for me this showcased that while magnifying the struggles of the pregnancy and withering relationships.
It was a good read but nothing that really was enjoyable.
