Book Review: "We're Better Than This" By Elijah Cummings

"Cummings was known for his ability to referee contentious members of Congress and reach across the aisle for the sake of justice. Since his early days in politics, Cummings proved his abilities as a leader and legal mind who could operate at the highest levels of democracy, always working with – and for – the underserved."

I couldn't agree more as Mr. Elijah Cummings has set precedence but acceptable behavior with class, humility, and grace. He's the courageous leader we needed at a time when we needed him most.

Upon reading about the love between him and his wife Maya I couldn't help but get the sense that they were one another's rock and moral supporters. It was so touching to see how he noted she held him up while he did the same for her without recognition or praise.

What a beautiful life he led in staying true to his self, his values, his morals, and his upbringing in always thinking about those less fortunate. He fought the good fight. May he rest in peace.

We are eternally grateful to Mr. Elijah Cummings and my only regret is that we've never met~!
