Book Review: "The Night of the Fire" By Kjell Eriksson

As a fan of Swedish Noir this one sat up there on the shelf quite well as it was quite timely and relevant to today's concerns with immigration and naturalization, racism, ageism, declining economic opportunities, alongside politics and the fate of our democracy.

I can't help but think this book was written for a more nobler reason but I won't go there. Suffice to say it deals with a school house fire in which immigrant squatters go missing and are presumed dead.

Subsequently, one additional fire is set with one of the victims being connected to previous fire.

Terrorist groups planting bombs in nearby Uppsala add to the mounting tension rises to infuriating levels and heated confrontations rise causing growing concerns.

The Night of the Fire was a slow burner with numerous dynamic and powerful characters that demand your undivided attention while giving many talking points to ponder.

A great new read by Kjell Eriksson.
