Book Review: "The Initial Insult" By Mindy McGinnis

Edgar Allan Poe fans will be delighted with this gem!

Life can be so complicated but with Mindy McGinnis writing the script you're sure to be blown away!

Welcome to The Initial Insult in which everything is not as it seems with characters that are larger than life.

Complexity is upon us but one thing is for certain: You can expect the unexpected!

It all began with Tess and her parents missing status -seven years ago- with a gal named Felicity  actively engaged in the whole 'secretive' process.

The question is what does Felicity know and is she willing to give up that information certainly not now after Tress has been having seizures.

The Poe connections are found throughout this increasing plot structure as we see : The panther on the Loose, the Black Cat, the Ravens as the school mascot, the location being fixed in Prospero and don't forget the Mask of the Red Death.. to name a few pop-ups.

Folks, this will get dark and dirty and will have you pondering why it may be a teen/ya genre as it captivates readers attention of all ages and is quite deep.

What is known is that the relationship between these two former friends will be told from alternating perspectives and each having their own say in the matter.

Could the answers ever come soon enough or will someone have to pay the ultimate price?

The ending on this was splendid with the clues that were strewn throughout coming together and those question marks written finally receiving closure.

Allegations may fly but without concrete evidence they won't stick.

The finale is not a cliff hanger persay but does involve some harrowing off the edge of your seat experiences.

Thank you to Mindy, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
