Book Review: "Relentless" By John Tesh

Fame and fortune are not always what they appear to be and many of those who have been successful lead an alternate reality that forged the path to whom they've become.

John is an incredible person whom I've admired as a journalist but also as a musician and husband. His story of rags to riches was not only powerful it was heartfelt and his tributes to not only his wife and family but friends and yes, even his faith is what carried him through those darker times.

I can't imagine stepping into his schools but from what I've read I'm grateful for him sharing his story because as we know there are always two sides to every story.
This is his own perfectly flawed and perfectly real story of purpose and grit alongside determination and success.

The story of a man who refused to let his situation determine his future and created a path of dignity and of sorrow.

His health scares including a diagnosis of prostate cancer was thankfully a stumbling block and not a life sentence as he used it as a stepping stone to achieve what many felt might be unattainable.

When he didn't have experience he created it and when he heard a melody in his mind he called his own answering machine and left a message with that song attached.
That song is now the famous NBA song "Roundball Rock" theme which was shown on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_h7Lm7C9Nk
This is just a taste of his talent because there's so much more to him.

What a fascinating read and blessing to have been provided this ARC.

I myself was left bankrupt, homeless, lt unemployed with three kids, without income/assets/savings/credit/employment, and now in extreme poverty having sought full time living wages since 2010 to the present.

I know hardships, I know pain, I too have had every health scare imaginable from 20 yrs of misdianosis with chronic bronchitis, severe anemia, asthma/copd, pneumonia (yes for 20 yrs), the flu after the flu shot (just last month first time in 47 yrs) and severe spinal stenosis with HUS to name just a few.

I know without such pain I'd not be the person I am today and I'm sure John would agree.
Those scars are battle scars so wear them proudly.

Never give up.

Thank you to John, the pub, NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
