Book Review: "House of Lies" By Terry Lynn Thomas

A wealthy widow running a Safe House. A chalice being hidden from Nazi's.
A detective who agrees to do all he can to protect the religious icon.

House Of Lies was full of excitement and relentless fast paced action from start to finish.

The characters were lively and flawed, deeply scarred and faithful, present and unknown.

It was a great novel dealing with spousal abuse during WWII era in which not only was the war causing PTSD and flashbacks but abuse was becoming more rampant behind closed doors.

Margaret, was one such feminine character who went through some horrible times and grabbed the readers attention through every action, every appeal, every voice.

She was viewed as mentally unstable and dangerous which added quite a bit of extra tension that was both riveting and appalling.

This one works well as a stand alone but you may enjoy it with more backdrop and added introductions.

The setting in this was splendid with all the revelations about the war and the aftermath. It was a time of great uncertainty and danger during the 40's with these British territories.

I want to personally thank the author, the publisher, and of course, the supplier Netgalley.

Thank you all for this precious gift - the gift of reading to enhance the mind.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I have and I hope you indulge in all its intricacies.
