Book Review: "Profiles in Corruption" By Peter Schweizer

This book addresses Progressives and the notion of the "pot calling the kettle black" as they say in layman terms.

What they're in essence accusing others of doing is exactly what they've done and many with their hands in the cookie jar still to this day. Those positions of authority allow the ability to hide it without being detected while less unlikely or popular individuals pay a hefty price for the same activities.

Corruption, kickbacks, pay to play schemes, nepotism, cronyism and more are at the helm of this sinking ship.

One thing worth nothing by the author,"Why trust someone with more power when you cannot even trust them on the little they already have?"

I'm a happy democrat (well most days) but this is a book that you cannot just walk away from and ignore because it's well written with great and well proven researched 'facts' not fallacies to back up the arguments.

What I like was the fact that so many books are negative in connotation and this wasn't in my opinion as it focused upon the meat of the matter.

The book focused on several important factors especially with regards to the media's treatment of the 'Trump Vortex' while ignoring the other current political pundits many of whom now struggle for the top office in the land.

With this said, there's another focus on the 'power game' with a central attention upon the media journalists and reporters & how they gravitate towards the competitive nature of the elections rather than the investigative aspects.

Who benefits from this political corruption is key in addressing this power?

Sweetheart deals, income generation, cover ups using a bend and twist of the law, legislative issues, and the publicity are forefront.

I truly enjoyed the insight this book provided as I have heard of some of the behind the scenes wheeling and dealing but not all and it's good to know going into the election of 2020.

With this in mind I've always noted if authors can speak eloquently w/o yelling and calmly present facts it'd go a long way to addressing important components to this political arena of power players and this did just that without being judgmental, rude, or condescending. For that I applaud this author because you can make a logical sound and informative opinion based on this book.

I have already added several books by this author to by TBR and look forward to reading them all.
