Book Review: "You Can't Trust Me" By Emma Rowley

When she knows everything about you but you know nothing about her!

When Emma Rowley turns up the heat she sizzles it up like bacon in a frying pan and that sucker sure gets crispy!!

Holy smokes this was fantastic especially with the dual narration from Nicky and Olivia.

This powerful story begins with Nicky being a ghostwriter writing about her new client Olivia.

Now, you know it's not going to be a simple premise without those twisty -scare your pants off scenes- so sprinkle in that writing style and you have yourself a thriller of mass proportion.

What I enjoyed was how this creeps up on you, a slow boil (like your momma's crockpot stew) and then it explodes with Olivia ratcheting up the settings and laying down the foundation.

Why would anyone just allow Nicky into Olivia's home is beyond me especially for that dreaded -one week- stay.

Of course, I forget to mention (mom) aka Elsa Vane is no cookie cutter but more like a grab, set fire, and go type of gal -actually she's estranged- too!

Elsa seems to be a DEADLY person and I'd tell you to ask the (father) of this story but sadly Alex can't respond anymore. Notice I said the word 'seems' as that's a clue puzzle for this mystery.

We progress at lighting speed when we get into the guts and glory of this piece and in the presumption of murder with Nicky having gone missing (rightfully so) while Olivia is targeted as the #1 suspect.

Folks- this isn't the end- as we find a gun in the lake but where is Nicky?

Could someone in this close knit group that's just like family know the truth but is refusing to speak out?

Well, one thing is for sure this one was quite interesting and kept me fully engulfed (no pun intended).

Thank you to Emma, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.
